Enchanting rooms
archetipo69on 18/06/2017 14:13This small hotel is worth a visit for the original rooms located upstairs. Even though it would be nicer to have music or music channel on TV and larger TV the bathroom was really taking all my attention. Nice break at the restaurant for fancy food. Very poor breakfast, definitely needs improvement.
Good place to stay
purplefleeceon 23/02/2017 06:02Enjoyed a few nights here while working locally.
Location: in suburbs but only half an hour walk into Utrecht. Or take a bus. Quiet, leafy so fine.
Room: all the rooms are individually decorated. I was in the white room which was peaceful, light and roomy. The bathing area was excellent in terms of space, bathing options and contemporary design. Shower and bath great. Bed comfortable.
Food and drink: breakfast is paid separately from the room. Was fine. But expensive but may be worth it if you want that option.
Bar: relaxed, good choice including a couple of cocktails alc and non-alc.
Restaurant: very good Moroccan food in evenings. Recommend. Lovely atmosphere.
Lift or steep stairs to first floor where the six bedrooms are located.
Would I stay there again? Yes, for sure unless I wanted to be in the town centre.
2nd time - much better
TravelHappyExeteron 20/01/2017 16:05Had my second stay at Badhu, 6 years after the other. Although one niggle is still very much there (the darkness of the rooms, especially my purple one), I have to give them thumbs up on all the other stuff.,
They now treat the rooms very much as an integral part of the venture (rather than an annoying add-on), staff are great and go out of their way to assist, food is good, and so is breakfast. Oh, and wifi pretty strong too.
Well done and thanks for looking after me!
Room was gloomy and depressing.
54Penelopeon 02/12/2016 09:13The staff were for the most part friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, and the Arabic style breakfast was enjoyable. On the negative side, we were shocked to find how poor the lighting was in the room, as it was in the rest of the hotel. The room lighting consisted of three low energy bulbs, plus a lamp, and we were unable to read a book, or even find our way around the room easily 'because we love nature' being the hotel's justification for this. My husband was very disappointed and felt like going home immediately. The step down from the bathroom was a constant hazard, despite the little strip of light on the lower side; the lack of carpets in the rooms meant that every step of the high heels of the occupant of the next room was clearly audible. However, there was an old and malodorous carpet in the corridor, which could have been dispensed with! I also walked into the plate glass front door, as I could not see it. We asked the staff if we could have more lamps in the room, but were told that none were available.
Tandy Utrecht Hotel
rvent198on 06/09/2016 14:02Great hotel & friendly staff not far from the centre of Utrecht. This is a trendy laid back hotel that also serves great food. If we return to the lovely Utrecht we would definitely stay here again. The staff were very helpful, the rooms had everything you could ask for and the bed was super comfy.
