Beautiful views.

The Hotel is in the beautiful Interlaken area it's got a spectacular view of the Alps and the drive up to it is breathtaking. We stopped at the two lakes that give the area it's name at sunset and looked up at the Jungfrau bathed in the pink light cast on the snowy peaks. The hotel's breakfast room allows one to enjoy the morning light and panoramic views and the quaint church nearby. However the room we had had a leaking bathroom fitting and we were not offered an alternative and there were no toiletries. We didn't feel very welcome here and expected a little more hospitality.

We had a lovely stay here. Good room beautiful view. Friendly staff both in hotel and the restaurant.
The breakfast lady was very helpful and attentive. The food in the restaurant is very good. Only disappointment was the noise from the neighbouring building works which started at 7am. Despite this I highly recommend a stay here.

This hotel is lovely people very friendly and always willing to help free upgrade to a suite and the views over the lake and mountains is spectacular whilst it is quiet here it is just what we were looking for to relax and admire the scenery great place to stay

Great hotel with terrible management and painful service

When you first reach the Baren it is located beautifully on the slopes of sigriswil. There is only one unfriendly person at reception to welcome you. The rooms are well appointed. But hardly anything works. We needed extra pillows and we were told that the they will charge us for extra pillows. The DVD player did not work. And they did not put a new DVD player through our entire stay. The day we arrived there was a wedding party and the drunken guests along with the drunken manager we're make noise till 4.00am. Throwing bottles and singing drunken anthems etc . When we went down to reception to ask them to be considerate towards other resident guests, we were met with hostility. We asked for the name of the manager so that we could lodge a formal complaint. We were then told at breakfast that we would have to leave the hotel. As the Swiss don't like being told that they are wrong. The customer in Switzerland apparently has no rights. This was the second time that we returned to stay at Baren and my family had loved the first visit. Unfortunately the management has made such a mess with the establishment and it's a shame that it has detracted to be an organisation run by staff who are hostile and belligerent to the customers.

This place contributed to my good vacation. I loved it.
It's in a good position, so you can see the lake.
The rooms are confortable and clean. We took a suite, which had enough space, a Nespesso machine for us to use, water, fresh fruit.
The girl serving us in the breakfast room, was very nice!
Breakfast is good, great selections of breads, all very fresh and tasty, fruits, cold cuts, eggs, yogurth. And if you need glasses they have 4 kinds of reading glasses at your service.
The hotel also offered us a Panorama Card which gaves discounts on attractions to visit and free buses.
Free wii fii too! What else?
I highly recommend this place!
