Kathleen Bon 26/07/2017 22:31We had the most lovely weekend staying in the Doc Baert room at this gem of a bed and breakfast! Gorgeous antiques all around. Fabulous breakfasts! And incomparable hospitality! Location perfect for visiting Saugatuck. Thank you to Anna and Vic!
Wonderful Weekend in Zeeland
Marsha Mon 19/07/2017 19:43As per many of the other reviews, my husband and I had a wonderful experience being hosted by Vic and Anna at their amazing Baert Baron Mansion B&B In Zeeland. They are warm and inviting hosts and are attentive to every need of their guests. The property is immaculate and beautifully restored and decorated. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and complete with a mini-fridge stocked with water and soft drinks, a bowl of home made treats like caramels and truffles, and a delicious home made dessert each night (cheesecake and chocolate mousse while we were there). There were even soft, comfy robes in the closet! We missed breakfast the first morning due to an early commitment, but on our second morning were able to enjoy a really beautiful and delicious breakfast with the other guests and Vic and Anna's attentive interaction. The table was set so beautifully and the food was wonderful and artfully plated. Bikes, kayaks and beach chairs are available for guests to use. It is a quick two block walk to a great brew pub and several restaurants in downtown Zeeland, and a quick drive to Holland for more beach town activity. Grand Rapids is also a short drive away. I can not think of one thing that Vic and Anna should do differently- it was a terrific experience all around and an exceptional value.
A step back in time . . . quiet elegance
mmccarelon 19/07/2017 00:10Top notch Bed and Breakfast in one of the most beautifully decorated turn of the century homes we could have ever imagined. Anna and Vic are two of the most lovely and kind people we've ever met; from strangers to friends in zero seconds flat. Breakfast and desserts are exceptional and served with two ingredients often left out today: love and care. A Christian home run with respect and kindness, it is decorated with a deep sense of nostalgia for days long passed transporting you back to that time with great delight and true tranquility.
Beautiful and welcoming!
352lorion 30/04/2017 03:44For our 29th anniversary, we stayed in the Baron room, and it was large, beautifully furnished with a bathroom larger than my husband's first apartment! Breakfasts were amazing, as well as the nightly desserts. The hosts were very warm, friendly and full of good stories. It is a great location to places in the area. We slept better there than we do at home! We plan on returning again and again!
A delightful end to our week vacation
michellerostonion 04/03/2017 17:54This bed and breakfast was wonderful, with the vintage look and feel but with the updated modern conveniences such as the large bathroom and tiled shower, fridge in the room and two wonderful recliner chairs (The Baron Suite). Anne and Vic were exceptional hosts with a true love for serving those that visit their home. Their attention to detail throughout the home was evident from the vintage decor to the homemade sweets and as everyone has already said the Delicious cake in the evenings. We had only booked 1 night as it was our last day of vacation but after only a few hours there we decided to stay for an extra night(which got us a large slice of cheese cake with fresh strawberries the second night!!!). Anna was very familiar with the area and suggested wonderful restaurants to dine at and a very large antique barn not to far away where my wife and I spent to many hours and dollars at but came away with some wonderful vintage pieces for our home. We left there home feeling relaxed with a full belly and a smile. We feel blessed to have met and spent time with Vic and Anna over the two days and will be back.
