A beautiful lodge with great owners
kangatashion 18/03/2017 16:29Eric and Joy--the owners--are gems and making this attractive lodge welcoming. Joy baked a birthday cake for me and a fellow traveler!! Eric is a first rate naturalist and I loved the two drives with him. Unfortunately, tigers remained hidden during our time, but the park is quite beautiful. Most of the food was quite spicy, but with a request, the four of us (part of eleven) who could not tolerate hot spicy food, found somethings we could eat. Joy is the cook and gifted.
Great Hospitality in a Wonderful Place
Larry Mon 21/05/2016 02:42What more could you ask for, a beautiful, intimate lodge, with an attentive staff, great food and a first rate naturalist as the owner to show you the sites of Kanha N.P.
We came there to see tigers which we did on several occasions but there was so much more to see. Eric's knowledge of the park and its many inhabitants was exceptional. He also seemed to know every Guide who joined us on our safari's and they worked well together to ensure our visit to the park would be memorable.
Joy, his wife handled things at the lodge. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. She also headed things up in the kitchen where the food was amazing. It was always good, so good that we asked if she could teach us how to make their Curry and she and Eric welcomed the opportunity to show us! Of course we have yet to try to duplicate it at home but we will...someday.
Lastly, we really enjoyed the after dinners conversations with Eric, Joy and other guest about not only the area but India, its people and life as they live it. Being our first visit to this remarkable country we found that to be a very facinating sidelight.
In all, a wonderful stay in a great place on a trip we will never forget.
Wonderful Stay & Experience for my Family & Me
vijay2909on 25/03/2016 19:58We were a family of 7 members, visiting Bhag Tola in Jan, 2016 and were in the age span of 24 to 88 years, and every one of us, returned home with a " MUST COME BACK " feeling & resolution.
Mr. Eric D'Cunha , the Operations -in- Charge is a very passionate wild life enthusiast, and shared with us a lot of knowledge on wildlife, not just restricted to Tigers at Kanha & India but other species too. He also entertained us with local Jungle folklore, besides accompanying us on all the Safaris at Kanha. Well Respected by all the Guides at the Tiger Reserve & has also been a trainer to most of the guides.
His wife Joylet, who oversees the hospitality at the Resort ,is a very pleasant & caring person, with a keen eye for detail on cleanliness, hygiene, besides her personalised care. She keeps the staff always very motivated, attentive & enthusiastic.
A great place to go & very genuinely recommended
.
Highlight of trip to India
Lesley Hon 24/03/2016 14:48The hospitality from Eric, Joy and staff could not be beaten. Eric's knowledge of the park and wildlife made the safari experience so much better. Plus the hot water bottles provided in the jeep at 5am were an unexpected pleasure.
At the lodge itself, the rooms were comfortable, the food excellent and the peace and tranquility unsurpassed
