What People are saying
Your perfect 'do-nothing' place
Abhishek_Sahaon 19/08/2017 18:02We stayed at the Baikunth resort for 3 days last month. It was a family vacation which we thoroughly enjoyed. The resort is few kilometers down the road from Kasauli which was a positive for us.
For starters, the property is indeed a resort, spread over a large area with decent facilities to boost. The rooms / cottages are spacious, and most come with balcony to enjoy the scenic valley views. The property operates 2 restaurants, both of which are very well run. The staff at all touchpoints are very courteous and eager to help. There is a clubhouse in the resort which is adequately stocked with sports and games equipment. The only downside is that the property does not offer complimentary wifi.
Kasauli is a very sleepy small town, far from the congested hustle bustle of a Shimla. If you are looking for a holiday to simply wind down, Baikunth is your ideal "do nothing" place to stay.
Hilltop Retreat
hillcrestroadon 19/08/2017 12:55We stayed here for 2 nights while we visited the Lawrence School, which is situated nearby.
The hotel is built into the hillside so expect lots of stairs when moving around the grounds. We paid for a premium room which had a great view out over the valley. However the room itself was starkly furnished, the bathroom was basic with a barely adequate shower.
Although it is open all year, I would say that a summer visit would be best. In March it was deserted, we were the only guests so there was no atmosphere at all. Staff are friendly but there wasn't much they could do to cheer the place up. By the way, there are monkeys everywhere.
Romantic Hideout

Kunal_Joshiion 19/07/2017 07:22Roger Federer was in good stead to win his 8th Wimbledon title, 5 years since he won his 7th. This was an occasion you wouldn't miss.
But the resort did not have most the prime/ fancy channels, including the one broadcasting the final.
The staff changed the set-top box in the room, but off-course to no avail.
What Baikunth offers you is peace and serenity. Away from the vices of the modern world.
The food is good. The spa is just ok (as per the wife and friend).
The staff very courteous, with prompt service, exemplifying the fact that one doesn't need to go to a finishing school to be a good host.
The rooms are nicely built and hygienic.
Wouldn't recommend anything over this place, yet.
Cons:
overall value doesn't justify the price (examples - broken kettles in rooms, average quality of linen)
no wifi in rooms, at least not in room 18
Pros:
its the best place to stay in Kasauli
Threats:
Noisy Indian families
Opportunity:
Room 18, nestled away with a good view, take adjoining 17 if more than one room required.
PS. I bought a subscription to an online channel and watched the final on my laptop, sitting out on the deck amidst fireflies, trees, and fresh air. Roger won!
Truly lives up to its name - "Baikunth"
makesamknowon 17/07/2017 17:02I generally shy away from writing freewheeling reviews on social media , lest they start looking like a marketing narrative . But in the case of Baikunth resorts I’m compelled to do so straight off the bat .
Baikunth resort is undoubtedly , one of the finest places to stay in Kasauli . Tucked in a corner with little whiff of English colonial rule , it definitely evokes a very special experience , an experience which is unadulterated , delightful and honest . Its well thought of layout and minimalistic architecture , reinforced by the pristine mountains and lush greenery all around adds to its raw beauty . The glimpse of the valley from the cottage balcony provides a constant promise of holiday adventure .The restaurant stewards are well mannered and provide prompt service. Food served in the resort is divine and shouldn’t be missed at all .
One of the things I really liked about Baikunth resort is that it doesn’t bombard you with any gaudy furniture , overdone carpets or Bollywood themed props. Everything in the interiors is kept plain, minimal yet prim and proper .
With hospitality taken to a whole new level , Baikunth is surely a place not to be missed by the holiday makers who desire a memorable stay with gastronomical delight & impeccable service.
