What People are saying

A great historic location

Super place to unwind in the lap of nature, big open spaces,

Great helpful staff, efficient, great food, very quaint and quiet place to unwind

Rooms are nice and big with all modern amenities, a nice swimming pool with clean changing rooms, towels are also provided

Still Tranquil

I have reviewed this place earlier, but still would like to add, they still continue to do the good work. They are still very focused on the uniqueness of the place, the place is not for rooms, this one is for the natural surrounding and the gardens. Go there if you have nothing on your mind, the peace is a bliss.

Magnificent heritage outside, so disappointing inside

When platinum room has lost its platinum…
This is the only good hotel for westeners in the area.
We spent 2 nights, and had reserved a platinum room based on the description on their website.
The property is somptuous, a hunting lodge in the middle of hills. Magnificent gardens, well maintened. Wonderful views
Helas the swimming pool was half empty and not open, altough some 38° C , and a desire for some swimming.
Food was correct but no other place to go for at least 10 minutes. Vegetarian Menu is only in Gujarati and personnel does not speak English enough to translate. Dining room is gloomy except when many guests.
Disastrous Platinum room : please look at the pictures.
• We were given a platimum room that was all but platinum. No furniture except the bed, and a small rickety table, 2 mismatched and weird looking bed lamps, no armchair.
• After complaining they came with 2 plastic chairs from the garden.
• The floor was very used and not maintained.
• The curtains, old looking and dusty, were difficult to open, and then appeared 3 large gekos - but that did not bother the personnel at all. The TV never worked correctly.
• The bathroom tube was disgusting, with a bottom completely damaged and not welcoming. The shower curtain scandalously and disgustlingly black in the bottom.
• When I complained about the room, I was told that the platinum nice room on the internet, well « that is the internet » - Unacceptable
• Of course when you complain they do not understand English very well all of a sudden. And I guess they do not care about private tour of 2 persons.

Fortunately, our guide went to discuss with them, and I told them I was feeling cheated and wanted them to make a refund via our Indian travel agency of the extra for Platinum. I also said I would write about this to Gujarat Tourist Board and post pictures on Tripadvisor. Obviously they did not like that because they immediately proposed at Breakfast to move us to a platinum room that was exactly what we expected on the ground floor. Everything there was just perfect.
So make certain you do not get that horrible corner platinum on the first floor, and ask to visit room prior they bring the luggage.

A little overpriced but beautiful property

This place is a little overpriced but it is a beautiful property that probably requires a lot of maintenance. I stayed in the suite which was huge. But the bed and pillow was hard. There was also no proper Wi-Fi connection.

Fanastic hotel in beautiful gardens

Poppadoc5748on 06/03/2017 17:25

This was one of our favourite hotels during our time in Gujarat. It is a very imposing building in beautiful gardens and with expansive views. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Food was served in the dining room. If there was a slight downside to the hotel it was that the restaurant was quite small and rather dark. It was strictly vegetarian but the food was served to the table [rather than a buffet]. A climb up a metal spiral staircase to the roof afforded fantastic 360 degree views over the countryside. We would revisit this hotel if we returned to this area.
