Great place to stay
Cindy Mon 08/07/2017 00:04Carmel was wonderful! She was very welcoming and gracious. She offered very helpful advice for places to eat and explore in town. She even drove us into town so we didn't have to take a cab. The gardens around her home are beautiful. We would highly recommend staying here.
Clean & Friendly
soutter2017on 18/05/2017 19:07The room was very clean & very comfortable. Hostess Carmel, and husband John were very helpful, particularly with a great recommendation for dinner. We selected Newcastle West as a stopping point between Shannon and Killarney.
Fabulous stay with lots of help on local genealogy!
adventuretraveller74on 04/10/2016 00:07Carmel and Charlie are the perfect hosts! My wife and I stayed for two wonderful evenings at the Ballingowan House. Very comfortable bed, quiet rooms, great shower and a choice of traditional or heart healthy breakfast.
Part of our trip to Ireland was to visit the places of our ancestors. Carmel and Charlie know so much about the Newcastle West and Castle Mahon area they immediately put us in touch with some local residents. We subsequently had multiple visits with families in the area.
All of this reflects our hosts wonderfull helpfulness and outgoing nature. We would never have found any of these family connections without Carmel and Charlie's help! Our stay at the Ballingowan House was much more than a great B&B experience...we made new friends.
We can't wait to return to Ireland and stay at this beautiful B&B again.
