Only disappointment - not staying longer
sidthecpaon 16/08/2017 19:26We were very pleased with our stay at Ballyseede. The rooms were spacious and the staff cordial - especially Stella and Joe. Einstein (the dog) kept us amused with his trick of picking up the pebbles. Unfortunately, we arrived to late for dinner, but breakfast the following morning was very good.
I would definately return, but this time I would like to stay longer.
comfortable, yes. captivating? maybe not.

we stayed for 2 nights mid-july 2017. nice 19th-century building. we had a huge ("superior") room with a nice slipper tub located on a little raised platform by the bay window. we did use it!
bathroom was modern but a bit stinky (only on our second day, and not fatally -- we suspected a plumbing issue with the room above ours).
bar is ok but gets quite stuffy the more people fill it. nothing an opened window wouldn't fix - typical (in our experience) for ireland.
overall: very nice people, great breakfast (F&B was otherwise average), laid-back vibe for a castle. we liked this place well enough but can't rave about it -- for that, read others' reviews. oh: and we encountered no ghosts.
Wedding
Kathyd1966on 10/08/2017 23:57We stayed here for a family wedding. The reception was actually in the castle. We stayed in the main castle and loved every minute. The food and the staff were amazing. The wedding was so beautiful we will go back for a weekend away one day. I loved it.

Slept like a queen!
Joni Won 04/08/2017 08:46Felt like royalty from the moment we arrived. A perfect spot for relaxing conversation, a couple of drinks and great Irish breakfast. The castle animals are an added treat! Pack light, stairs involved.
