A fantastic hotel, food was fresh and well cooked, even had gluten free. Had 2 weeks here and totally enjoyed every minute. The staff even offered us a breakfast at 4am before we left for the airport. Definetly returning again and again to this gem. And only yards from the beach......BRILLIANT HOLIDAY
Very few pros: apart from being very near the beach and the Last Resort Restaurant being Round the corner, excellent food, the domestic staff were the exception, very nice. Plenty of cons: The hotel room, 6th floor, had ants crawling about the floor and the bedding. It was a twin room with 2 single beds and then a Fold up bed crammed in, the mattress was stained, no space to move- the price should have been reduced to reflect this - very uncomfortable pillows. AND then we have the dining room most of what should have been hot food was either warm or cold - no children's menu - most of the the staff were not very friendly - very few smiles or acknowledgements. Probably kept a low profile because of the extremely low standards, maybe they were embarrassed?. There was no kids entertainment to speak of. They had water polo, but not every child
could take part due to the older kids and adults, in the early evening 2 members of staff played a couple of music tracks, like Music man and chichiwa and that was basically it!. Reception staff, one of them was an English girl. When I was checking out she just said "right" and took the key card off me - no thanks or hope you enjoyed your stay!
we have just arrived home after a 10 day holiday at the balmoral hotel. we were giventhe top floor with pool and sea view which we asked for that was great, although the room was very small and basic. with three beds in the room there was very little space to move about. it was clean so long as you did not look to close. it had no tea making facilaties good job we took our own. we went to breakfast in the resturant to find the food was cold the same with the evening meal. the food came out of the kitchen warm but was put under strip lights NOT HEAT LAMPS, the food was cold within minutes. we noticed that there were four air con units on the ceiling 15 foot away from the food counter which was blowing down onto the food. i complained to the resturant manager who did not seemed bothered so i went to reception and asked to speak to the manager about it, to be tolld he was not there but they said well we eat there and its o.k for them.the staff were very rude and did not want to no. we did go to eat at different times but it was always the same COLD. we ate out most of the stay there which was bad as we had paid over £2000 for this holiday. the entertainment was not much better very poor. the swimming pool did not open until 11 oclock but was manned all day by a life guard who did not allow any form of inflatable or ball games in the pool, understandable as the pool was not that big. sunbeds were always easy to get as not many used them. The location was good ,close to the beach and buses, with a few cafes close by. we would not go there again or reccomend this hotel most of the guests all complained about the food quality.
Good location beside the beach and a 15/20 minute stroll up the waterfront takes you right up to the marina etc.
I actually liked the outside bar and poolside area. Fatima makes good Pina coladas out there. Dont mind the grass too much and the pool is just about big enough. Always got a lounger with shade.
Room and bathroom, although basic, was clean and room service was spot on. Balcony had nice view.
Customer service was embarrassingly bad. I'm not on here to attack anyone personally, but from a professional point of view I couldnt believe how little the staff seemed to care about our experience. For example -when I asked where our pick-up-point was for my airport transfer, Daniel (front desk, short beard, bad attitude,I apologise if thats not his name) sarcastically smiled and shrugged his shoulders. He personifies the soul of the hotel...because he hasn't got one either.
Useless! They made nothing easy throughout the week and didn't even pretend to care about how we were enjoying ourselves, any of the times we had a simply query.
When we checked out and i handed my room key, one of the girls just said "...yip. Thats it!' instead of, you know, 'thank you' or 'safe home'.
We walked out laughing.
This place is a chain-run business...relying on first time visitors.
Bland, unappetising food. and no...im not running to the microwave every meal to heat up your lukewarm food. Ill just have the salad again.
The jobsworth who wont let you take your water into lunch...seriously??
Sadly, I wont be back. Unless manuel from faulty towers gets a job there. He could train the staff and we'd all have had a easier time!
Food cold, mostly unedible.doesnt cater for children at all.hotel room, bathroom crawling in ants and a cockroach on 6th floor with a child while couples on lower floors. Most of entertainment in spanish
