Hey, if you are looking for a cheap room in an expensive area like Varkala this is just your perfect solution. The price for the rooms are just a dream compared to what is available elsewhere around. Good but simple for sure. This is India and not at all India.

It's not bad for a night or two

First things first.. there is definitely no sea view.. I think they are getting confused with the Bamboo House Hotel which is in front of this one.

I stayed in the main house, Downstairs and yes it was dark but I only paid 300 rps so couldn't complain to much.

Hot water comes in buckets but this is normal for this budget.

It has good access to the beach through the other hotels.. probably 150 mtrs to the cliff.

Don't forget.. you are here because of the beach, not the accommodation. Lots of mosquitoes.

Bathroom was normal for India.

Location is really good for all the restaurants.

The staff were ok when I was there. They also have bikes for rent. Tuk Tuk will cost between 80 - 100 rupees fromthe bus stop or train station.

Terrible staff

The place and the rooms are not to bad. Its not definetly with see view like someone is writing below. But the man running this place is just not normal and he ruined our firt 3 days there. We told him we want to stay minimum 3 days, but if we find good joga place, we stay longer, maybe 1 or 2 weeks. The second day evening he told us, that we have to check out tomorrow, becouse he has different reservation. He didnt evan ask, if we want to stay longer. The third day morning he told us, that he will manage somehow and we can stay. Evening when we were lying already in the bad he came again and sad, that we have to check out tha day after again... I get really ungry at him a I spoked with owner. His answer was, that its a full season and we didnt pay in advance and asked me to dont write the review here... We moved to Paradise beach resort just 200 metres from there and it was really great there. Cheaper, clean, friendly stuff and kitchen free to use... We stayed another week...
We are 5 munths traveling threw Asia, but this never happend to us...

its looking better

Reviews I saw made me wonder, but this place was great! I think all of the room are ocean veiw with a balcony... it is not a big place as far as number of rooms. The rooms was HUGE with a full kitchen, granite counters, ceramic/marble floors, and carpet. It was very clean and everything worked great. The bed was SOO comfortable! Plus it was quiet, even though we were staying over the 4th of July weekend. We loved it and definately plan to return

Avoid this one

We stayed here for 2 nights and couldn't wait to leave. It's dark inside so you cant really see whats lurking! This dark interior is a particular style in Kerala and when done correctly is stunning but this room stank of smoke and felt dirty. It wasn't just the mosquitoes and the dozens of beetles that emerged in the bathroom during the night but the managerial approach. We booked the room for rs700 and when leaving were charged rs1000. When my husband protested the reception filled with men who clearly all have a hand in the business. We paid to avoid problems but I would advise to go for any of the many other much nicer and better run establishments on the Cliff. We moved to the Green Palace and also spent some time in Villa Anamika (both of which were lovely) and rs1000 per night. My advice - stay somewhere else!
