Romance personified
KayKendallon 20/07/2017 12:02We stayed for one night as a special end to our two week holiday. It is not cheap, but as there are only four rooms, and all are unique, it is worth paying for. We stayed in the Queen suite which had an enormous round bed, set within a gorgeous stone domed room with window out to sea. The ensuite bathroom had a jacuzzi bath with a ladder going up to your own private entrance to the glorious terrace which was a nice touch and made us feel very special. The views from the terrace are lovely and there is seating, sun loungers and a hot tub. The b&b is set within the fortified walls of the City and overlooks the sea. You are perfectly situated in the heart of the old town which is also beautiful and has many bars and restaurants, and stunning churches and buildings. Breakfast is served on the terrace which was lovely and included fruit, omelette, toasted ham and cheese sandwiches, wraps, croissants, fresh juice and a smoothie - wonderful - you will not need lunch! You cannot park in the old town so have to find a spot just outside which was relatively easy although it is busy. You need to watch out for bays marked with white which are free, blue you need to pay at a ticket machine, and yellow is for residents only. We found a white space four minutes walk away. As we were there on a Saturday night in July Monopoli itself was heaving and it was very difficult to find a restaurant where you could eat outside without a reservation so best to book in advance if you can.
Cowardly Roberto!
wenmicon 16/07/2017 08:03Really disappointing how we were treated by Roberto, the owner of B&B Bellavista Suite. We booked to stay here on Expedia two weeks prior and received a confirmation email from Expedia with a confirmation number.We also emailed Roberto who replied that he was looking forward to meeting us. On the day of arrival we dropped our bag at reception at 10am and said we would come back at 2pm to check in. Upon arriving at 2pm we were told by the receptionist that there had been a mistake by us and Expedia and our room had already been given away. We showed our confirmation from both Expedia and Roberto but were told that it was a mistake. She further went on to say it was 3 parties mistake - Expedia, us and maybe them. We asked to speak to Roberto but were told that he was unavailable. We later discovered that Expedia called the hotel 10 minutes later and Roberto answered and then hung up on them after telling them that he had tried to contact them several times to cancel the booking. Roberto was avoiding us and letting the receptionist take all the flack! We have written to Roberto twice requesting copies of these emails but have received nothing, importantly no apology for HIS mistake. We have also asked him to call us - we are still waiting.... (a month later). We understand that mistakes happen but this lack of integrity to own up to your own mistake is dishonourable. It was fortunate that the hotel next door had just had a cancellation so we went there and the staff were fantastic. Go to Don Ferrante hotel NOT Cowardly Roberto's Bellavista suites. We hope that Expedia have the integrity to remove someone like this from their booking system.
A pool in the room! How brilliant
Jon Ton 22/10/2016 10:16The old town of Monopoli is charming, romantic and a lovely haven away from the masses. The accommodation is first class as is the service from the friendly helpful staff. I have visited Monopoli a few times and Bellavista and it's sister hotel Playa Del Mar are outstanding.
We stayed two nights in the forms and two in the latter. Both are excellent with excellent roof terraces. There are plenty of lovely restaurants nearby.
A special place
Kevin Oon 15/06/2016 19:32Located in the old town this is a lovely intimate place, Roberto will make sure you enjoy your stay and guide you to the best beaches and restaurants. Our room was just off the small reception area and some may find this a bit too intimate but really the hotel is so small there is little to disturb your stay. The bedroom and bathroom are all furnished to a high standard but strangely there was no shower. A lovely tapas style breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace accessed by a spiral staircase. It's not cheap but would recommend for a night or two.

dkrastevaon 24/10/2015 09:45beautiful spot, stylish and comfortable accommodation with breathtaking views. Location is perfect too. There is nothing more you can wish for. Roberto and Jussi are extremely welcoming. The historical city of Monopoli is at your fingertips.
