Good value, clean and comfortable

The owners of these rooms are very welcoming. Veronica has a good understanding of English and you can what's app. her on your mobile with questions if neither of them are around when you are planning your day. This is not a b and b in the conventional way. It is a very comfortable and clean on suite room. We had room 3. Very quiet so slept well. Good air conditioning. You have a voucher to go to the local cafe, a few minutes walk away for coffee and pastry/ crossiant. You can pay extra and have more if you wish. If they are shut for any reason let Veronica know and they will refund 5 euros. This is the cost for 2 drinks and 2 pastries. If cafe shut go to local bar nearby instead. Veronica will give you restaurants that she can recommend and help with travel arrangements if you want to sightsee. The only thing which we worried about on arrival was the street looked very uninspiring and the drab sunflower in the faded door made us concerned that we had been misled. Inside is very clean though. It is a 15 minute walk to the promenade and to the railway station. We visited Pisa, Lucca, Florence and Pietrasanta by train very easily. Buses seem more difficult and operatives not so helpful. Coming from Cornwall we were not so keen to pay for use of beach so went to the long free one to left side of marina about 45 minutes to walk. There is a cafe there and if you don't buy from them there is a toilet you can use, which is clean, for 50 cents. There is wi fi free in room. When we asked they lent us towels for the beach. There is a TV in room which we didn't use. There was no kettle so you might want to bring one. Bed was very comfortable too and they came each day to make bed and do the room.

Me and my wife stayed there for 4 nights as we were attending a wedding in Italy. Paolo and Vanessa were extremely helpful, polite and couldnt do enough for you. We were in the top floor room which was clean, and extremely quiet. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and would definitely recommend staying there if all you are after is somewhere to sleep and shower. Saying that Viareggio itself is full of top quality bars and restaurants so there is no need to spend too much time in your room! All in all a cracking little chill out holiday which let me tell you me and my wife both needed. A+

We were in room 5 on the top floor. The room has one of the cleanest bathrooms in a hotel room that I have ever seen. Not really a B&B in the British sense - more a rented room. Clean comfortable and convenient this place is recommended.

A fantastic location for a well run quaint well priced guest-house

Burlamacco Gold is a well run guest-house in the centre of viareggio. The only problem we had with the hotel was finding it to start with, as it is tucked way with no obvious road names to guide us. Despite this, personally I believe Burlamacco gold is in a prime location- close to the beach (400 metres), close to the train station (400 metres the other way) about 10 metres from the market on market day (well worth a visit and on a Thursday.) The guest-house is well run and they speak many languages which is useful! The staff were very friendly, offering us advice on restaurants and the beach. Our room was basic and warm, more than adequate for our stay. Our room were cleaned extremely well. The breakfast included in the deal was 20 metres away, and you get tea/coffee + 1 pastry item each. we found them so nice we bought extra :) The holiday and guest-house was very good value for money, I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to visit italia. Fabulous Hotel

This is a small B & B, the rooms are basically furnished but spotlessly clean with an amazingly comfortable bed. Veronica and Paolo, the owners/managers could not have been more helpful and though not on site all day they are available by phone. I want to keep this place a secret but that doesn't seem fair so in that spirit I cannot recommend it highly enough.
