Really within the city
Geert Bon 10/07/2016 16:58La Nonna Constantina is an excellent Bed and Breakfast. We had visited Chiavenna multiple times in daytrips from Switzerland but decided to try and spend the night, also to be able to have a dinner rather than lunch at Passerini, the best restaurant in town. We did not regret that decision! Monica appeared to be a very enthousiastic and helpfull host in a house that really had everything that one might exptect from a B&B of this price. Our room was small but equipped with everything: facilities to make coffee and tea, a fridge, a safe, a flat screen tv and, most importantly, an excellent bed. Breakfast is served on the roof with a beautifull view of the surrounding mountains. It definitively does not comply with the idea of a simple Italian breakfast! The location is great in the pedestrian street leading to the bridge. For 5 euro the parking garage can be reserved.
Feb half term break
Matthew Pon 21/02/2016 10:17Amazing place to stay - near enough to visit the Lakes or ski in Madesima or St Moritz. Monica and her staff are helpful and very efficient. We had breakfast in our room most days but view from breakfast area beautiful. Skiing was great - empty, no queuing at lifts and easy to park although busy at weekends. It's not a challenging ski resort but great for families and beginners.
Great in-town B&B
Steve Won 23/09/2015 16:00We stayed here during the recent Sagra Dei Crotti (look that up-what a great event). This B&B is on an old street near the river, and is a ZTL for much of the day. We parked our car in one of the spaces that the hotel controls in a nearby garage. The breakfast is brought to your room (you select your meal options the night before), and was typical of a B&B in that region, and quite good.
Our room was a 2nd floor walk-up, with two sleeping areas. The shower stall was a bit on the smaller side, but was fine. There was a mini-fridge in the room, which was a nice plus. We booked through the hotel website, which does not offer an English translation. I used google translate for whatever I didn't understand, and had no issues. The staff spoke enough English, and I spoke enough Italian, that we understood each other.
The town is charming and the Sagra is something to experience. The location of La Nonna Costantina is perfect for enjoying all this town has to offer. Leave the windows open to enjoy the sounds of the nearby river.

Mari Pon 22/05/2015 12:30I had to spend a night in Chiavenna and stayed at B&B La Nonna Costatina, it is for sure the best one I have ever stayed. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I will come back!!! I highly recommend it, the breakfast is wonderful, perfect location and staff very welcoming and warm. Congrats!!!
Cute and Adorable
mahgiublinon 03/02/2015 11:34Stayed there for 3 days. Best B&B I've been so far. Everything is very clean and organized. The decoration is adorable, everything works (heating, shower, tv, etc). The staff (Matias and Monica, I guess) was very sweet and willing to help. It is in the middle of Chiavenna. Very well localized, near some great restaurants and churches for tourists to visit. It was an amazing experience and I recommend it to everyone.
