Great for Exploring Verona

wmarsburgon 21/05/2017 20:30

We stayed in the ground floor apartment in early April 2017. The hotel is located a short walk out of the main city centre, in a more residential area. Finding it was difficult, but when we arrived we were very impressed. It was clean, had fast wifi and in a beautiful part of the city.

Included in the cost is tokens for breakfast (pastries and coffee) in a patisserie a short walk from the room. A nearby bus stop can get you into the city centre or the train station, but we often walked. There is also a small shop nearby; useful for essentials but more expensive than the express supermarket over the other side of the river.

Would highly recommend: 5/5

The best of Verona!

A wonderful place to stay! Good value for money, great views from the room and a pleasant walk away from the city centre along the Adige. Owners Andrea and Santina welcome you like members of their family and equip you with all the essential information you'll need to make the most of your stay in Verona. Be sure to check out Celtic Pub down the road for a late-night pint!

Quaint, excellent location and accommodating owners

We stayed here at the end of October 2016. Andrea was very prompt in replying our messages before we arrived and was efficient and helpful in sending us maps of the hotel as well as the city.

We checked in fairly late at 10pm and Andrea was extremely accommodating of this - waiting for us at the apartment and sending us very precise directions. The free parking that we arranged with him before arriving was a weight off our minds. In person, Andrea was polite, friendly and professional - an emblem of Italian hospitality.

He was very welcoming when he received us and provided us coupons for breakfast next day (redeemable at a popular Veronese bakery nearby). Formalities like wifi passwords were furnished without us having to ask.

There was a tourist tax of €7.50 which we had to pay in cash on arrival. I am aware that a tourist tax is customary at all hotels but the amount varies from hotel to hotel.

The apartment we stayed at was next door to Andrea and Santina's residence and it was a pleasant reassurance for us that Andrea explained that our doorbell was linked to his mobile at night, should we ever need anything at night urgently. This additional touch showed care for the welfare of guests. The apartment itself is on a quaint cobbled street that was very quiet at night and charming to walk down day or night. We got bacj from dinner at about midnight and felt perfectly safe walking the street.

The location could not be better because it is so close to Ponte Pietra bridge (about a 5min walk) which leads into the heart of Verona.

The free wifi worked excellently and I had no problem even downloading small videos on my messaging applications.

The bed was comfortable and the heating system in the room was very effective. The bathroom itself was functional enough, despite being small (just enough for one average sized person).

There was a minor confusion over the checkout time but was sorted out easily when we showed Andrea our booking confirmation stating the checkout to be 11am.

The price we paid (€82.80 per night) was reasonable given the location,

Quaint and Cozy

We arrived here late at around 2200, the owners were very friendly and accommodating. The room was nice and clean. I wished we had more time here, but we were just passing through. I will definitely stay here again if given the chance. The only drawback is the cars driving by at night is a little loud.

Great place to stay in Verona

We were coming to the Opera and needed somewhere to stay and this was ideal. Just a walk over the bridge away from the centre.
The accommodation comprised of a living/dining room/kitchen area, which led straight out onto the street,a bedroom and a small bathroom. We also had access to a terrace to the rear of the property.
Our welcome was efficient and friendly and we were given a permit to park the car down the road.
Breakfast was arranged by a token given to us which was redeemed at a patisserie up the road.
We will not hesitate to come back here again. Great position, great value.
