What People are saying

Comfort and Hospitality

Michele Bon 02/03/2016 18:12

I was coming to Costa Rica to assist a yoga retreat, I came early and the place I was staying was booked so they arranged for me to stay at B&B Tranquilla for one night. I was so happy to be in coaster Rica, that I was fine with it. Bo, was I pleasantly surprised when Steve the owner picked me up and brought me to his B&B. It was so beautiful and open and clean and his lady friend Teresa was lovely and so hospitable! I felt very comfortable and slept great that night. I woke up to a beautiful breakfast made by Steve himself. I lounged round relaxing in the family room that opens up to the pool. ( literally opens up by a huge garage type door, so you are indoor/outdoor)
What a greet concept and enjoyed being in their lovely space.

Good choice in Agrigento

Roomy, comfortable room with access to a full kitchen that we took advantage of to cook dinner one night. Maura is a very accommodating host who picked us up at the train station and arranged for his father to give us a ride to the ruins. Although located very near to the train station, the B&B is very well insulated so we had no problems with outside noise. Insulation between the rooms is not as good, so you may hear your neighbors. Recommend.

Great Place, we stayed only one night but 2 to 3 would have been nice ! The staff is really helpful (they came to pick us up at the train station). Breakfast is really good, fresh and tasty !
Nice quiet nights !

Very flexible host

Tranquillo (which means relaxed in italian) was actually the name of our host in this very clean, very central and very comfortable hostel in Agrigento. We arrived at 11 at night with no prior booking and nowhere else to go. Tranquillo took care of everything, giving us a comfortable room and a more than sufficient breakfast. Definitely recommend to anyone passing though the town.

Not really a B&B - more a shared apartment

Jayson Ron 13/04/2015 22:27

Not sure how this place has such glowing reviews... nothing massively wrong with it, it just isn't 5 stars. The owner (?) Mauro was nice though.

It is a shared apartment I would say, not a B&B. There was no 'staff presence' - we were just given keys to the apartment and left to it after a brief introduction. To me, a B&B has someone 'on-site' to ask questions, otherwise it's no different to renting on AirBnB. We had his number to text/call, but just costs money when you're abroad.

Imagine it would be a good place if you wanted to be really budget as it had a basic kitchen to cook food (we didn't).

Location-wise it is about as close as you can get to centre if you want to park your car. Still 10-15 minutes walk away uphill though. It's also in and surrounded by big apartment blocks.

Breakfast on 1st day was really poor - stale, cold croissants. Breakfast on 2nd day was fine though. Again, left to make your own coffee etc.

Bed and room were fine - basic.

I don't think Agrigento is a particularly nice place to stay generally. I would come to see valley of the temples and move on within a day, no reason to stay over.
