Really special and friendly B&B
Timea Bon 22/05/2017 13:50One of the most memorable places we've stayed at, this B&B is beautifully located in the countryside, about a 10 min drive/taxi ride from the city centre. Particular plus points include an atmospheric terrace and pool with a view on the temples, a very tasty breakfast with homemade almond bread, quince (I think!) jam and fresh watermelon juice as particular highlights, and really friendly staff, not at all fazed by our very late arrival. Other little bonuses include the fact that you can walk without much trouble to the temple area if, like us, you didn't have a car, and peacocks!
Wonderful Country Villa
Mark-n-Holly-Ferraroon 09/05/2017 03:23We enjoyed staying at Villa San Marco very much. The family was very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely. It was large with a sitting area and a kitchen. It was comfortable and clean. The only issue we had was that we had to climb to the 3rd floor carrying our luggage. They do have other rooms on lower floors. The wonderful breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the pool but also the temple site in the distance, with a variety of croissants, breads, jams and other homemade spreads and breads made by the family. Before our stay, the family sent great directions that I used Google maps street view to see exactly where to turn to get to the villa and we had no problems. This is a b&b on a farm so there are the occasional peacocks roaming around (some found on the roof outside our window), roosters, birds and dogs. They didn't bother anyone and made our stay all the more interesting and fun!

JerryAon 17/04/2017 17:07Very difficult to find, even with GPS coordinates, but don't give up. You have to turn onto an unpaved road with no signs for the B&B, you have to trust your GPS completely. Once you enter the gated facility all of the negative feelings about the poor road vanish. B&B Villa San Marco is an edenic facility with peacocks, pleasant dogs, and myriad other birds roaming. The owners, (Salvatore met us), are exceptionally welcoming and courteous. We were taken on a short tour of the facility and shown our room. The room was very comfortably decorated (we had a double bed and two singles). The bathroom is spacious and the whole apartment is very clean. There are many, many outside tables and chairs to relax. The breakfast is excellent and includes a wide variety of home-made pastries, jams, and juices. All in all an excellent B&B. I highly recommend it. As an added bonus you have a magnificent view of the Agrigento ruins from your breakfast table. Magnificent.
Hard to find, never wanted to leave
denadenakion 15/04/2017 19:12This B&B is difficult to find down a narrow one-car-only dirt road, but the directions the owners send are very good. This is an amazing property with gardens, peacocks, dogs, birds and extremely helpful, friendly owners. As you walk around you see the Greek ruins in the distance - particularly awesome all lit up at night. We arrived tired and hungry and did not want to go back through the dirt road to Agrigento to eat, so the young man kindly called a local Pizza Restaurant who delivered a delicious and HUGE pizza. We purchased a bottle of wine from the Villa's stock and had a delightful dinner on our patio. (Sicilian Red wines are terrific!)
The next morning we had a fantastic breakfast - what a spread they put out on the table!
We were very sad to leave such a charming and sweet place. The Greek Ruins of Agrigento are a short drive away. I would book at least two nights were I to return to Agrigento!

Gosiaaaon 05/04/2017 22:22We visited B&B Villa San Marco in November 2016 as a part of our road trip around Sicily. Despite the narrow and a bit complicated way to the b&b, storm and lightning... this place was well worth a visit. We loved the atmosphere, nice people, delicious wine and food. Thank you very much for a fabulous host. Our favourite B&B in Sicily.
