My villa overlooks river with a mountain as the background. The view is spectacular. You can see farmers taking their animals out in the morning, be it yak, pigs or chickens.
There are 2 storeys in the villa with the sitting area & bedroom on the ground floor. There's a steep staircase that goes down to the bath tub, shower, toilet & closet, all opened area. It's an interesting Tibatian style house. My tip for you is try not to go to the toilet in the middle of the night!
Breakfast is simple buffet style woth typical Yunnan noodles plus the basic western food.
We had barbeque pig & lamb one night in the patio which was great. One of the staff even sang a Yunnan folk song for the guests.
My stay was very pleasant as the staff were all nice & can speak relatively good English.
However, due to the high altitude in Shangri-la, I suggest taking the high altitude medicine, but of course, consult your own doctor.

Great value and experience fora bit of Tibetan culture. Located 40 minutes from Shangri La airport outside of town, which is its charm. We found hotel transfer expensive, better to arrive by taxi. Day tours are researched beforehand & we used same taxi driver for a negotiated daily price of Rmb600. A good deal!
Room is one big 340 m2 Tibetan house & very well decorated. Impressive but a bit too big for my kids 9&10 year olds. Local village walks are nice.

A perfect place to relax before and after hiking. Far from the city, in a lovely village. The rooms are spacious and all have beautiful views. Mario did his upper best to make our stay unforgettable. Thank you Mario for the gifts and the bottle of wine ;)

We are family of 6 with 4 young kids and staying at the Ringha banyan tree was an unforgettable experience. Each room of the hotel is built like a true Tibetan house with all the benefits of a great hotel. We had plenty of space for all the family. The hotel is in the middle of an amazing valley which really makes you feel part of nature like no other place we ever been to. The mornings started with very long hikes around with the amazing Marrio (the manager of the hotel) and his 2 dogs. Our kids who are not accustomed to long hikes kept on asking for more. Dinners at the hotel are so generous and at a very high quality. The staff was super friendly and helpful. All in all if you are looking for a once in a life experience in nature this place will indulge you and for the kids, this trip was really perfect.

Beautiful location, surrounded by the Holy river and grassland. Mario, the hotel manager, went to great lengths to make our stay unforgettable. Our three girls loved walking trough yaks, cows with Mario's dogs. The staff is really friendly. Best location to fully enjoy the Shangri-la spirit.
