Had a bit of trouble finding accommodation in this little village because arrived in the dark but once I got there, Celia was an absolutely wonderful hostess. Delicious breakfast. Nearby pub the Botany Bay, within walking distance was excellent for dinner.

We booked two rooms with Celia at Bassets last July, as a stop on a motorcycle holiday. We were welcomed with afternoon tea and a friendly greeting from Celia. The rooms were both spacious and well-appointed. Everything was meticulously clean and presented, with good attention to detail. Breakfast was excellent quality and sizeable! Celia was flexible with our needs, offering storage for our motorcycles, flexible breakfast times etc. The village location was quiet and discreet, but close to the main A31 and 5 minutes walk from a decent pub serving food etc. We were thoroughly pleased with our visit, and could not fault it. We hope to stay again soon!

We stayed for two nights with Celia at Bassets and cannot recommend it highly enough. The rooms (and Celia!) were lovely and although the bathroom was not en-suite it was only a few steps away. There was an excellent choice of breakfast items including yummy eggs from the hens that live on site and a bright sunny garden to relax in.

Bassets in Winterborne Zelston is superb. Excellent accommodation in a beautiful, calm village location and also close to the A31. Breakfast is outstanding. Try the eggs. Also take the walk up to the church. There are some good restaurants in the neighbourhood too. The "Botany Bay" is just a five minute walk from Bassets.

We stayed for 1 night and Celia met us at the door to show us to our en suite room. It had double aspect, charming views of the gardens and countryside, very picturesque setting. Large room and comfy bed. Celia served us tea and homemade cake in the garden and we even met her chickens who laid our breakfast eggs! Breakfast, difficult decision as there was a large choice. (Lots of homemade muffins,jams and breads) as well as the full English, fruits cereals and juices. Well worth a detour if its not on your route.
