Not great, but not bad, not sure about returning - very bad wifi

I was satisfied with this hotel, everything was good, except for the poor wifi signal and the empty coke bottle I found below my bed from someone before me, making me question how clean this place really is.For reasons like this, I'd much rather stay at airbnb's where I'm almost positive the sheets have been changed. I thought the air con worked quite well. I did not eat breakfast here, so I cannot remark on that, though it looked rather simple for the price. The cleaning attendant's did give me anything extra when I asked. The safe in my room did not work and no one at the front desk could get it to work.In the end, the place was average - clean with helpful staff, but not a place to rave about. I really was unhappy with the poor wifi signal. I've gotten better wifi at cheap hotels in southeast Asia

Where to start?

We tried to check in one day later than we had booked. We had pre paid 10 nights through a company. Booking. The gentleman in reception told us because we were a day late out reservations had been given away.

But with a little keyboard work the guy did manage to sort us a room.

The rooms are very small and compact. They are not the cleanest and when I opened my fridge there was a clump of (what appeared to be, though no proof ) pubic hair. Disgusting!

As we were staying here through work we had a group booking ( 7 men on the night we stayed) after returning from work we were informed by a very rude lady staff member we would not be permitted to eat in the restaurant because if we ate as a group, there may not be enough food for other guests. That meant we had to eat at McDonald's a lot, it is right across the road.

Another interesting happening, I was working on my computer at around 8pm when a staff member just walked in my room, looked at me and asked if I was ok. After ringing reception to enquire why this had happened, I was told because the room had been cleaned they then had to check it. Still don't understand this .

The attitude of staff is terrible, you can tell they do not want to be here ( except the guy who checked us in, very good guy.... can't remember his name sorry)

Shampoo and soaps not replenished daily. Complimentary water bottles not replenished or empty bottles removed.

There is NOTHING around this hotel other than mac Donald's.

No hot breakfast till after 7am.......

GOOD POINTS:

very very good showers ( maybe the best hotel shower I've had) . Hot and very powerful.

Also very good internet.

Beds are small but quite comfortable.

That's it!!!

I realise this is a budget hotel but you can do better than this place. It's like a prison camp.

After having booked for ten nights we moved hotels after just three bad nights stay.

Bastion Hotel Rotterdam Zuid is in the business district of Rhoon, near to the Rotterdam terminal area. The rooms are compact and average in value for money, Breakfast is standard with minimum variety. There is a McDonalds near to the Hotel within 2 minutes walk. Internet is quiet fast.

Very untidy

The rooms were never cleaned properly on a daily basis, The floor was full of dust and sand. The sink is extremely small, unable to even wash your hands, forget about brushing your teeth or washing your face. In spite of closing the windows, there is lot of noise coming into the room throughout the night.

Excellent place.. I am not here first. The city attracts me always as before. The temperature is little down but overall the beauty of the city feels me the ancient and historical moments of the old city
