Mixed feelings - Shared Accomodation

Teniah W on 15/11/2017 06:39

We really have mixed feelings about this accomodation! We had booked the superior room through Expedia and when we arrived, although very modern and nice, we discovered this was shared accommodation!

I raised it with the lady who had kindly shown us in, and she said it’s clearly on the website. I thought it was my mistake but when I went back and looked I still couldn’t find it! Our “roomies” a 50 yr old couple also said they were shocked at the situation and they hadn’t seen it either when booking through Trivago.

Nevertheless, once our initial roomies left (a younger couple who’s late night tv watching kept us up most of the night) we had a lovely time with the new couple.

There are complaints about the size, but we had absolutely no issue with it! The rooms were fine for a weekend stay, comfy bed and nice bathroom.

Also the shared areas were very nice with a very practical kitchen! A shared spa downstairs. The staff are lovely as well.

Overall, after the initial disappointment of shared accom (because we wouldn’t have actually booked it knowing that) the stay was just fine. Just no getting too comfortable and walking around in your underwear as there are cameras in the living room!

Oasis of comfort & calm

Hugely comfortable bed, lovely complimentary toiletries & modern appliances & fittings. Garden room across front of building with sofas, opens via wide doors onto sweet garden with pond and water feature with cushioned garden loungers. Light airy rooms throughout, to relax & enjoy whatever the weather or time of year. Modern security features on gates and doors.Warm, kind, welcoming staff reflected in the atmosphere & comfort of this idyllic retreat - they arranged access to private space for me when WiFi failed. A short walk from the hubbub of Byron Bay & set back from the main road in & out of town.

Absolutely awsome. Modern and designed place, great facilities. Perfect location and the best service. We stayed there for 8 nights during October for our honeymoon and the guys were so helpful and friendly, especially masha buy the owners as well.

Beautiful accommodation

Absolutely loved my stay at the Bayhaven lodge. Thank you to Mascha, so friendly and helpful. She made the stay so comfortable. The units are beautiful, modern and clean. So close to the main beach and shops.

Handy location and a little quirky.

Just a few minutes walk and you are in the centre of 'town' so the location is ideal. Rooms are small, but well featured, except the fridge is 'shared' with the other rooms and is out on the common balcony. Owners/staff were great and loved to stop and have a chat. Only other thing to watch is parking - on the same side of the street is only 2 hour, while parking on the opposite side of the road and it is all day - about around $20 if you were to leave a car there all day. There is non-metered parking a few hundred meters down the road. All in all great place to spend a few nights.
