We are DVC and overall I like this resort. We did have some hiccups this time that I hope they resolve by the time we come back in a few years.

Disney asks that we all pay a premium when we stay at their resorts and for that we should expect that premium right back in the way of service and quality.

We didn't exactly get that this time. Our room was very late for check-in which very much messed up our first day and the room had some insect and cleanliness issues. Grout in the shower was black and needs to be redone badly.

I do love the theme of this resort and the proximity to MK can't be beat.

We also had some pretty serious transportation issues. I paid for a cab more than once.

Can it get any better??? Nope!

This property and stay has made me wish I could afford to buy a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) membership. We were fortunate enough to have been given time from a family member who is. In the past we've stayed at Saratoga Springs as well as Animal Kingdom, also both nice but didn't compare to the convenience of Bay Lake. We took used the path to walk to Magic Kingdom and avoided the longer security lines via other entry points. We also took full advantage of the monorail system to eat at the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian. The staff at Bay Lake went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and taken care of, it was genuine and appreciated. We stayed in a one bedroom unit one night with the lake/pool view then to a theme park view for the rest of the stay, advantages to both. The units were spacious and had pull out couches and chairs. The two bathrooms were large and easily accommodated four or more people getting ready. Theme park view is, well the theme park view and view of fireworks but also a view of the parking lots! Lake view was quiet and offered beautiful views of the sunrise. I included photos of both below. We enjoyed the grounds and boats to Wilderness Lodge. It was a welcome break and a nice boat ride. I can't wait to go back again and now need to play the lottery so that I can buy a DVC at Bay Lake! I could definitely see spending time there yearly!

Excellent location!

This was our first stay at BLT. We arrived on property around 10 am expecting to store our bags, but our room was ready! We were on the 3rd floor (deluxe studio with a lake view). The deluxe studio has one queen bed with a sleeper sofa; kitchenette (microwave, mini-fridge, sink) with plenty of pantry space. Bathroom has space for toiletries on shelves and under the sink. Also full tub. Overall plenty of space in closet and drawers. We didn't use the pools since we spent all day at the parks.
This property is convenient due to its quick access to the monorail. You just use the walkway to the Contemporary Resort and go up one floor to the monorail for Magic Kingdom or Epcot. If you want to walk to the Magic Kingdom, it's about an 8 minute walk. Very easy. For the other resorts, you'll have to take the bus.
We'd definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Vacation Hotel

We were fortunate to stay here for six nights. We had a one bedroom unit and it was beautiful. The beds were comfortable. Having two full bathrooms is a great way to start the day. Getting ready in the morning went smoothly. Check in went great. Charles was very informative and explained everything to us and answered all our questions. We were never bothered by noise from other guests. Sound insulation must be really good. The pool area looked nice, but did not have much time to use it. Jacuzzi in our room worked well and was very clean. Could not use room safe because it was broken. Pocket doors were also broken or misused by other guests.

Disney's Hidden Gem

Staying on Disney property is always a magic experience. The resorts are all strategically themed and provide and incredible experience after your long stay at the parks.

The resorts surrounding the Magic Kingdom are each unique, and many people overlook the Contemporary because it is more budget and family oriented. However, the ultimate hidden gem is the Bay Lake Tower, which is located on Bay Lake overlooking the side of the Magic Kingdom.

This was by far the best Disney Resort experience I have ever had.
The rooms are beyond spacious and beautiful, and most offer incredible views of the park or the lake. Our room got a glimpse of Space Mountain, and you are only a five minute walk from the park itself!

It's amazing, if you get tired or a storm rolls in your are only minutes from your hotel room, and you can always take a break, relax, and head back out. It's also perfect for the extended magic hours as well.

Nothing beats this hotel, especially if you have a larger group that will be staying for a week or longer. I will always try to come back to this resort!
