Don't try and call!
Mkgreeneon 27/05/2017 02:35My husband and I go to Bay Valley most every Friday night. Usually lots of mix ups. The staff tries hard but more might be needed. My husband left his sweater tonight so we tried to call. Would you believe we were unable to contact anyone at this hotel!! We even tried to rent a room. Nothing. No answers with any department. Twilight Zone!!! I was able to leave 3 messages in the voice mail of General Manager. This was the only contact available. It is a shame because this resort has promise but is so poorly managed. Go somewhere else if you want service.
Girls Weekend
Laura Con 16/05/2017 23:57This was an overnight stay for Girls' weekend to Bay City. We really didn't spend much time in the room so it wasn't a bad choice. The hotel is dated as others have posted. The floors were very uneven. It felt like someone had taken a jackhammer to them, tried to smooth the floor down but failed. The staff was friendly. We did meet friends in the bar for snacks and drinks. The wait staff was friendly but inexperienced. The food I would rate lower than 3 stars. We ordered chips and dip, nachos and pretzel balls with cheese dip. None of them were worth mentioning. Probably because they were served cold. We stayed the first weekend in May so the Golf Resort would definitely not be full running at that point but they did have the Freelund Prom there that evening, so I would have expected more staff available. It's was an okay experience. The décor was dated with no flat screen tvs and the televisions in both the rooms our group stayed in were probably 10 years old. Pretty much matched the indoor décor. Not terrible but not great. If the hotel had wifi, we couldn't get on it and couldn't find information on whether it was available.
Tired but has energy
Alison Ron 05/03/2017 16:12Stayed here for State Bowling Tournament....girls weekend. Staff is friendly but the rooms are tired. Beds are lumpy and not comfy...should upgrade to Queen sized beds. Decor is old neutral. Heat units are on outside wall...very noisy when they turn on and not insulated well around them. Loved the pool and hot tub, but their bath towels are a joke. Thoroughly enjoyed their Friday fish night...continental breakfast lacked toast, bagels, yogurt and fruit but their eggs were real and the sausages were good.
So, if you are looking for a quaint place to stay and don't mind dated amenities...this is nice.
Bed Bugs--need I say more
DolceBacion 08/11/2016 15:51We had an event to attend (Nov 4->6) and really had not other choice. Being from Canada and not knowing the area we listened to those who suggested the place. In a nut shell this is the worst t hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are dirty and very old, furniture looks like it was picked up at a flea market. Bathroom sinks was rusted out, rooms very dark and dim, carpets the room have buckled , holes in the walls. And then the morning we checked out what did I find on my sheet...bed bugs! NASTY
Friendly staff, hotel really needs improvements
Lauri Won 17/08/2016 01:06The only reason I gave an average rating was the staff, they were very friendly & helpful. Improvements are definitely needed. A lot of the carpeting is very dirty & threadbare, the rooms have no refrigerators or microwave ovens. The TV's are not flat screen or HD. One of the buildings has a rotting roof & the railings for the balconies were missing.
Some of the issues we had were: had a large party in a room, there weren't any clean glasses for beer available, the pizza's were very under cooked & took forever to come out of the kitchen (2nd batch of pizza's were under cooked as well). One morning for breakfast they didn't have any milk. How do you have a banquet facility & restaurant with no milk? My room was cleaned very early but the housekeeper didn't have any clean towels. Again, how can you clean a room early in the day if you don't have any clean towels?
The ballroom was very nice for the gathering. For how hot it was outside, the ballroom wasn't too hot or too cold. Very comfortable.
