Everything you need to make your holiday enjoyable
966sheiladon 09/04/2017 22:33The owner Carolyn is very efficient, I sent a few emails before the holiday and she replied the same day and very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the island. On departure we were able to leave our bags as we had a late afternoon ferry she booked the taxi for us nothing was too much trouble. Great location easy walk into St Helier on the bus route and opposite the beach. The guest lounge had books, dvd's you could borrow. The room had a TV, hairdryer, fridge, microwave, kettle everything you need we opted for room only and this was ideal. Wi-fi was very good. We liked the room it would not be to everyones taste some would view it as a little old fashion, not for you if you like the minimalistic look.
If you had a fifty foot periscope, you could indeed view the bay from the Bay View Guesthouse.
Thomas Con 10/10/2016 15:34Their website claims the following.
"The Bay View is situated across the road from the beach at Havre des Pas with its lido and beach cafe."
What the website fails to mention is the fact that immediately across the road from the Bay View Guesthouse is a four story apartment block which is topped off with what appears to be a penthouse.
That is the view you get from the Bay View Guesthouse.
All others claims are to be viewed in a similiar light.
In our bedroom, the toilets seat had a sizeable chip out of it, part of one of the toilet seat hinges was missing, the light over the bathroom mirror didn't work: we pointed this out but nothing was done about it.
The shower was pathetically underpowered.
I was able to view another two bedrooms, I spoke to their occupants and they were as disappointed concerning the surroundings as I was. All agreed that the showers were inadequate.
The guest's lounge is not an attraction.
The standards provided by this guesthouse do not match its prices.
The owner was civil and the breakfast was of a reasonable standard. The 'full English' was well prepared and particularly cleanly presented.
I wouldn't return.
Bay View "Best" House
bellalistairon 27/09/2016 21:59We booked our holiday just five days before we wanted to go, so this, together with the fact it was bank holiday weekend, meant available accomodation was very limited. However, our travel agent got us into Bay View Guest House, & we couldn't have done better anywhere on the island. Our room was clean & comfortable, with everything we could want, including fridge, microwave, crockery & cutlery. We found this very useful on days when we didn't eat out. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. The location of Bay View is ideal - just yards from the beach & lido, & also the bus stop, & only 15 mins walk from St. Helier town centre. We had a lovely
weeks holiday, exploring Jersey on foot, by local bus, & on hired bikes. We would certainly recommend Bay View Guest House.

Nice place to stay
Stephen Ton 03/08/2016 15:37I read reviews before booking and I wasn't disappointed. When I arrived there was no one about, but after quick call to the number, which was clearly displayed, Carolyn was there to offer me a warm welcome. After completing the checking in formalities, I made my way up to my room. The room was a nice size and had a nice ensuite shower facility. The bed was a nice size as well, in which I got a very good night's sleep. There was also a tv in the room with built in dvd player. There was also a very handy fridge and microwave oven in the room . There were dvds downstairs in the lounge for you to borrow if you wanted to. The lounge also had sky TV. The breakfast was also very tasty and had a very good selection of cereals, juices, fruit and yoghurt as well as a choice of a cooked breakfast which was cooked to order and was also very tasty. There was also plenty of information about things to do and places to eat in Jersey. It is also just a 10-15 walk into the centre of town or, if you wish to get a bus, there is a very frequent bus which stops just up the road. I would have no hesitation I'm staying here again, or recommending this to other people
