What People are saying

Nice cocktails !

ThEuropeancoupleon 24/08/2017 10:50

Very spacious atrium with a imposing cocktail bar.The service was a bit slow knowing that there was not that many guests... The cocktails were agreeable and there is quite a big choice. A comfy place to have a nice time.

Disappointing - multiple problems

Ora Mon 23/08/2017 15:43

A top-class hotel, but we encountered multiple problems which detracted from our visit.

When we arrived by car, there was no one at the door to greet us or help us with our bags.

When we had a drink later that night at the main bar, the place was almost empty. A waiter was wandering around, but never came in our direction. I eventually had to go to the bar and ask for service, and even then, it took awhile for him to appear to take our order.

The bed was too hard. Both of us had an uncomfortable night.

Other than that, thing were as you'd expect from a classic hotel. Our room was nicely appointed. The breakfast room was big and bright and stylish, and the breakfast buffet was extensive and good. The public areas were stylish.

But the multiple problems definitely detracted from our positive experience.

Relaxed, comfortable hotel in central location

Efficient check-in, with a most welcome upgrade. Reception and concierge staff were all attentive and effective. Nice bathroom, window opened onto courtyard, so no noice from the street. My room was pretty close to the lifts, but this caused no disturbance.

My highlight was the champagne breakfast on the terrace, morning sun on my back, church bells ringing. If you're happy with tea and toast for breakfast, go for the à la carte option, or you'll pay €40 for the buffet breakfast. Equally, when travelling with kids, you may want to order from the menu for them (unless your kids are of champagne drinking age). If you're not vigilant, you can pay €160 for breakfast for a family of 4, while consuming very little. Hm....

When I was seated, I was not offered a menu, the automatic presumption being that I was heading for the buffet. More lucrative for the hotel, less work for the staff, of course. More attention needs to be paid to replacing the bottles of bubbly on time. I was faced with not just one, but two empty champagne bottles in the ice bucket. This was rectified quickly, but still.

The location works great for me, being just across the road from my beloved Lodenfrey, and an easy walk to many important sights, restaurants and delicatessen, designer shops, and a short walk to the sightseeing bus stop.

I will stay there again, if I can get a good room rate on a last minute basis.

Excellent location, lovely hotel

Shame the nightclub wasn't open as it looked great. Bars and pool area very good. We only ate in the Polynesian restauarant because rain was too heavy to venture out. Superb location to base yourself with everywhere a short walk. Drinks and breakfast expensive, although we didn't realise we could have had champagne at breakfast. Cheaper option of the rooftop terrace. Both have fabulous views. Rooms all individual, ours was excellent with a four poster, perhaps we were upgraded without realising?

Nice

I think it's a very nice hotel but it might be a bit overpriced. It is is enormous with two very fine restaurants plus another one for breakfast on the 6th floor. The service is very professional and the ambience is great.
