Prepared for Eclipse
Susan_1611on 23/08/2017 19:39My husband and I stayed here for one night in order to observe the total eclipse. We were pleased with the preparedness of the hotel management for the event. Eclipse viewing glasses were provided with the room. This was a welcome surprise since we had received notice from Amazon that we should not use the glasses we had ordered and were unable to secure replacements. Management provided notice to put in our cars and would monitor the parking lot so only guest could park during the event.
Our room was clean and we appreciated having a refrigerator, microwave, and wet bar. Breakfast included hot items of scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, and Belgian waffles.
From previous reviews I anticipated that the pool would not be available. The outdoor pool in the hot weather would have been welcome. We've learned that the pool has been fixed and on the day of checkout it was being refilled.
Our room was located on the far end of the second floor. We noted no unpleasant odors and felt the accommodations were quiet.
This was a handy location and I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others.
Good cheap stay
Zzkuczon 23/08/2017 02:31Hotel was just ok as far as Quality Inns go. The breakfast area was really nice! But the room was pretty messy. Chips on exterior and bathroom doors. Old stains in shower. Not great smelling room. The smell was my biggest disappointment. It's a cheap hotel. So it was fine. Cozy bed. Nice location.
Bring your Febreeze
justuskatson 31/07/2017 03:46We chose to stay during the Show Me Games as our room was okay despite the hallway smelling horribly of cat/dog urine. Six other families chose to cancel after arrival and check-in, as they couldn't bear the stench. After being assured housekeeping would be notified about it, desk staff were heard telling the manager they had no idea why so many chose to leave and they smelled nothing. The hallway truly smelled like an animal shelter.
Beyond being assured at time of reservation months in advance that the pool repair would be done, of course it wasn't. The free breakfast did not merit being called an amenity. So much money spent in Columbia during these games could certainly be used better elsewhere.
Quiet, nice night
536russellhon 30/07/2017 01:32We liked the grab bar in the shower for us older folks who may be a bit unstable at times. I had a hard time getting up on the bed. It looks elegant, but needs to be lower for shorter people. Everyone is not 6 feet tall. OH, what happened to the pool? It was empty!
Decent Hotel but Tight Parking
DayTripDudeon 28/07/2017 04:45The room was good and I had only two minor complaints. First, no Kleenex. Second, no night light, which wasn't a problem because of all the light leaking in around the curtians. When the hotel fills up, so does the parking. Breakfast was up to snuff.
