I miss the view and sound of the river!

R924CPmarieson 03/07/2017 18:05We were in town for short time. Stayed here for one night. Enjoyed the balcony on the river. Pool was decent and open 24/7. Rooms could use some updating and deep cleaning. Kind of funny smell coming from a/c. Very loud road sounds.

mattJ172VAon 01/07/2017 05:33We stayed at the Baymont on the river recently for 2 nights. You are mostly paying for the view overlooking the river. The room was mostly clean but there were a few things that bothered me given what we paid. While I am sure that the room was clean, a few things needed replacing that shouldn't have been allowed to go so long. The toilet seat looked like the oldest thing in the bathroom and had exposed rusty bolts. This wouldn't bother me in a lower price hotel. The outlet in the bathroom had also come loose from the box it was mounted in leaving us feeling unsafe in using it. Thankfully the wall mounted hairdryer was already plugged in.
Breakfast was mostly inedible. Warm things were heated in the microwave, and the waffle iron was more of a pancake maker that didn't really work well (mine came out chewy.) Luckily there was donuts, cereal, and yogurt that is too hard to ruin.
Finally we didn't get maid service on the day we stayed. We left about 10am that day, and were staying on the top floor. I assume housekeeping had already passed our room (had DND sign out) and didn't come back later. It didn't really cause us much inconvenience, but was a surprise when we returned that night at 9pm
The view of the river and mountains there is really nice and the porch is a great place to stay. Be advised that there isn't a screen on the balcony door so you can't hear the river with the door closed. The road is the main entrance road and stays pretty noisy all night.
The location might be worth it to you, just be aware it isn't anything special except for your balcony view.
