What People are saying

Decent Hotel

Fred Bon 22/08/2017 22:15

This hotel is on the older side but is kept up nicely. The room was spacious and quiet. The breakfast buffet had many choices and was very good. The hotels location was good and very easy to find. I would stay here again.

Nice Hotel, Nice People, Nice Price

We stayed here for one night, passing through on our way to somewhere else. We had a king suite room which was clean and nice. There was lots of hot water for showers and the bathroom was nicely updated. There was a microwave and a small fridge in our room - great to have. Also a pool and workout room that we didn't get to use. Breakfast was good. Nice to have hot food! It seemed like there was something for everyone.

5/19/17 Only bad, and I mean bad, lodging experience of this entire 18 day trip. Very disappointing.....

Stlsojourneron 24/07/2017 04:43

We arrived at Comfort Inn St. George North late in the evening (11:30) after a very FULL (614.5 miles) and fruitful day of seeing sights and sites. Upon our approaching the front desk we were witness to a young lady earnestly speaking on the phone to an unknown party. The subject of her conversation was soon made clear. Despite my having made this reservation well in advance (3 weeks or more?) we were told that the hotel was full, no bed for you, sir.

OK, on one level I get that. We are late, we did not call earlier in the day to confirm (a practice we will adopt in future) and did not check in earlier when we had the opportunity but, darn it, this reservation was confirmed weeks ago. We did our part. Here we are!

It was what followed that merited Comfort Inn Saint George North the rating I have applied. It went something like this..... Good news, sir, we have found you a room, sir, just a short drive down the road (true) and I have even better news for you, sir. The room is $30 less than the room we had confirmed would be available to you here at our hotel.

Of course, sir, if you prefer, you may pay us the full price of the room you reserved w/ us, to us, (Comfort Inn St. George North) before you go to the other hotel, or you may simply go to the other hotel and pay them the reduced rate. Methinks, let's see, is this a good deal or not? Hmmmmm, the difficult choices one is faced with on the road.

I will say this, she was very sincere in this most generous offer.

Other than saying something to the effect of "I'm outta here" I was speechless. And I swear on my recently deceased 98 yr old Mother's grave that the above really did happen. We got to the other hotel, I think it was a "Sleep Inn" (I was somewhat distracted at this point, forgive me) nice place for what it's worth, got to sleep around 1:30 AM, and did our best to not let this (Un)Comfort(able) Inn(hospitable) St. George North (of reason) ruin what was, to that point, a really great trip. We were successful in this resolve.

Last thing I am going to write about Comfort Inn St. George North; never heard back from them. Forget about following standard industry practice in the event you have to "walk" someone down the road by "comping" said "walker" for the full cost of their lodging for the evening. Let's establish a new standard!

What is this, a hotel or an airline?

The rest of the day was great, from beginning to (almost) the end. Lots of miles. Visited a little known massacre site "Mountain Meadows" (MM) in the SW corner of Utah. Spent time on the "Old Spanish Trail (OST) in the middle of nowhere, very cool. Got to St. George in time to add a stop, North Rim of the Grand Canyon (NRGC). Awe inspiring, must see if in the 'hood. Utah, in general, is beautiful and it is just our first full day in this state. And, yes, I know the NRGC is in Arizona. Cut me some slack!

This is my second "dedicated" hotel review. I will touch on MM, OST and NRGC in upcoming reviews.

Next up.......Zion, the first of the 5......

Spacious quiet room for overnight pit stop.

I really like the layout of the suite, with two separate rooms, one with two queen beds, and the other with a sofa-sleeper, with the bathroom in between. Each room had a TV, although one remote didn't work. The clerk on duty tried several sets of batteries, and it still didn't work, so the remote was defective and, oddly, they had no spares on hand. When we first checked in, our room had a very large wet area on the carpet, adjacent to the closet where the A/C unit is, so we requested a room change, and the desk clerk said "you didn't spill anything?" What an odd question. If I spilled something, I'd get towels and clean it up, not go to the front desk. Plus, the size of this wet area would have required me to have spilled a bucket, or drained a cooler there. The rooms had signs in them admonishing you to leave the thermostat above 70. Kind of makes me wonder if they realize this is the "hospitality" industry.

Other than these peculiarities, it's a nice, quiet, comfortable, and clean property. Typical, but decent and well-stocked, breakfast area. Didn't use the pool, but it looked nice and well-maintained. Good view from our room of the red cliffs, too.

THE MANAGER JENNIFER IS A NIGHTMARE

racheltroyon 20/07/2017 23:05

This is the ABSOLUTE WORSE customer service EVER!!!! My daughter is going to Dixie next month. She had to drive 5.5 hours to go to orientation so her & her friend booked a room at this lousy hotel. When they checked in, the manager, jennifer was super rude and would not let them check in because they do not allow anyone under 21 to book a room. If this is their policy & they know they're close to the college, why didnt they ask an age? I called and offered to take responsibility & offer my own CC in case of any damage. Jennifer would not budge. My daughter was scared & asked if Jennifer knew of a nearby hotel, jennifer had a half laugh & said NOOOOPE!!!! When you are so close to a college and know these young adults come up for orientation or a tour, they should make it clear on their rules! College students are 18, not 21!!! Jennifer also would not give any info on her manager. Upon reading these reviews, I did discover that Darwin Leavitts is the owner and he runs an insurance company so I emailed him at insurance157@gmail.....and he never did respond. I sent an email to grdesk@choicehotels because i called to complain & was on hold for over 30 mins b4 a foreigner answered saying i cant hear you, call back & hung up. My email was very vague & I asked someone to call me back but they never did or even bother to email me back. Jennifer is clearly not fit to run a hotel, she has ZERO customer service skills and this hotel and owner can care less about their customers. There are so many nicer hotels id recommend in this area. DONT STAY HERE, DONT GIVE THIS DISGRACEFUL IDIOT A CENT!!!
