TanT80on 09/08/2017 03:55Just stayed here with friends for the weekend. I will start with the positives: location, free parking and friendly staff. Other than this, it is all negative. First off, the entire building needs a good power washing as it is covered in bugs. Not sure what kind or if it's due to the season for this type of bug but regardless it is an extremely unflattering look when you are walking up to the hotel or even looking out the windows. The most important thing to me for a hotel is cleanliness and I did not feel this hotel was clean. There were a few random hairs on the bed when we first came in, cob webs in the bathroom (along with a spider) and I also found dental floss on the floor. Clearly this room was not tended to very well. It also definitely needs updates throughout-and major maintenance for scratches on walls and furniture. The free breakfast was located in a random location on the 3rd floor, after going through several hallways to get to. The breakfast area was also not clean. The floor was a mess with spilled juice and food. Even if is caused from guests, this should be maintained by staff at all times. I literally had to walk around food to not step on it but did end up stepping in spilled juice that wasn't cleaned and had sticky shoes afterwards. This hotel has potential IF these issues are taken care of. The location is great-right across from the ferry and near many restaurants but I would not stay here again due to lack of cleanliness.
ONE NIGHT STAY MACKINAW CITY MI
7mauradon 05/08/2017 17:45We stayed there last week for one night...thank God it was only one night! The only good thing was the lady at the front desk. She was extremely nice and helpful.
The room was dark and dreary. The refrigerator was on the "floor" and appeared to be very old and well used! It was not on a counter or table as any other hotel room I have ever stayed in. That seems to be a "sanitary" issue as the rug did not appear clean!!
The coffee pot was on a dresser with "no plug" available unless I unplugged the lamp. I moved it ontop of the refrigerator. "no plug" available unless I unplugged the lamp there. Called the front dsk and told her the problem.
She advised there was no plug available unless I unplugged the "refrigerator????" ARE YOU KIDDING ME????
I told her that was unacceptable! It was not...the same lady as when we checked in...I want to note that!!!
The furniture was scratched and appeared to have been picked up at a garage sale or goodwill.
The lighting was very inadequate and the sheets on the bed were so stiff they felt like parchment paper or worse!
The bathroom tissue was verrry cheap and thin!
The breakfast was adequate but there were not enough tables available for people to sit.
I would NEVER stay at this hotel again. We paid $99 but my hubby heard a person being checked in that evening and he was paying $149...We felt sorry for this guy...
This hotel is a dump...do not waste your money here!
I do not like to leave negative reviews. I usually go out of my way to leave positive reviews and enjoy doing that. But...There was no way I could leave positive comments on this hotel.

Great location, great price
Laura Pon 02/08/2017 00:34It's a great location across from the ferry port and easy walk to Mackinac Crossings. Loved getting discount ferry tickets as part of our purchase for the room. Front desk staff was very nice! Our room was clean and spacious. Would recommend it to others!

Amber012580on 26/07/2017 12:43This is the third time I've stayed in this hotel and I have yet to be disappointed. The room are decent, nothing special, just just what you need to sleep and shower. The breakfast area is extremely warm, but the food was OK. The waterpark is great for my 5 year old. He also really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I am already thinking about next year!
Bayside Hotel - a great place to stay
Nancyann4on 18/07/2017 17:11The hotel was clean and the breakfast bar was great. The entire staff was polite, accommodating and very helpful! We were across the street from the Mackinaw Island Ferry and in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in the city. The pool and water park was fun and the beach access was wonderful!
