Needs updating / 8 year old loved it
Jessica Son 26/08/2017 04:32Just got home from our vacation at the Beach Cove. We were in Tower A 4th floor. Our room was clean. It was great to have a full size fridge, microwave, coffee pot, cooktop and other kitchen supplies. The sheets were definitely worn and the bedspread was very old. Many of the lights did not work. The shower was very small. Housekeeping came by everyday to empty trash, replenish our towels, clean the bathroom and make our beds. The view was great. My son loved the arcade area in the town center. Now the negatives: the pools are in need of some TLC. The tiles are falling off. The lazy river barely moved and the water was so low. No one came around and cleaned up during the day. Trash was left around until the 11pm at night. It was disgusting. The elevators are so slow and there is not a working elevator in the parking garage. But you cannot bet the location. Right on the beach and very close to Barefoot Landing. We did not eat at the hotel or purchase any drinks so I cannot comment on that. I would consider going back because it was great to spend time on the beach and at the pool.
Nice place to stay

Joanne Pon 19/08/2017 22:10This review is strictly on the resort NOT the room. We booked our room through a private owner. We did not have to go through check-in so I can't comment on that process.
The elevators in the parking garage are out of service. Very inconvenient since this is a busy season. We parked on the 3rd floor so we could use the ramp to get into the hotel. The standing water near the elevators is gross. The elevators are very slow & go all the way to the 16th floor before they come back down. I don't understand why the hallway is carpeted it just absorbs all the water.
The lazy river wasn't working for the first three days.
The old blue chairs on the pool deck need to be replaced. They are old & some have mold. The pools are open from 8-11 & the rules are not observed. People are putting towels on chairs to reserve them and then going back upstairs or out to the beach. You can't find an open chair after 9:30am. I watched from the balcony in the morning as many people did this.
We stayed near the quiet pool (far right) since the main pool was very crowded. The first 2 days were okay. The third day we went down and I don't think they cleaned the pool at all. I was picking out bugs left and right. There was a film of what appeared to be sun screen in the pool. I got fed up & took the kids out.
The pools are old and really could be nice if they were updated. They cover the cracks with black mats instead of sealing & repainting.
The best part of the trip was the Polynesian show a group puts on Thursday nights by the pool. The group was wonderful & my family enjoyed the show.
My daughter & hubby played in the game room. We didn't eat on site because we have local restaurants we like when we visit. I ordered a drink from the outside bar, but they are a bit pricey.
Overall, unless they update the pools & clean them up we won't be back.
Beach Cove Resort BEWARE OF WHAT YOU GET!
Pierrette Con 17/08/2017 05:19We had reservations for this property from August 14 departing on August 18, 2017. We were quite excited about starting our vacation here in Myrtle Beach! We had vacationed in Myrtle Beach last year and had a great time! This particular property was shown on GROUPON as a 4.5 star property. We had high expectations for this beach rental. All the pictures of the "RESORT" showed a property that we would have been fine with. Reality is another thing all together! First, at registration we were told the garage elevator was not working. I believe the garage has 4 floors. The two front desk personnel were not professional, we were totally ignored by one of the persons standing at the desk. We checked in and proceeded to our room #825, when we arrived we noticed how filthy the elevator was, that should have been our first clue, we got off the elevator to dark, dank hallways, the end of the hallway had a window/wall cutout where it looked like the balcony railing had some work done or was in the process of being done, however, the SAFETY of that railing was in question since although it was still covered with ragged pieces of plastic wrap, and had caution tape in some areas around it, the main open space over the rail itself overlooking the street was broken through, ripped through, making you wonder if the problem was with the balcony rail or what stage of repair it was in. No signs no nothing! There were also pieces of caution tape adhered to the stairwell door access as well, what was going on there? Usable stairway, unusable stairway, emergency exit?? The room itself smelled disgusting! You knew as soon as you got in the room there were issues! The bed comforter was not on the bed correctly, we did not even attempt to look at the bed sheets as we were distracted by the dirty carpet in the hallway that led to the main "living room" area. We were ASTONISHED to see a filthy sofa I wouldn't even chance putting my dog on, I would be afraid he would get fleas! Stains visible all over including a 3 inch rip in the couch pillow. The kitchen cabinets were a mess, the paint had pealed all over the cheap cabinets, looked like they had never been wiped clean in their lifetime, and the appliances were rusted and broken. The wall next to one of the appliances was visibly damaged with a half attempt to repair, the wall still had food stains, a 12 inch long streak dripping down that looked like some type of sauce thrown there! Obvious things that any respectable hotel cleaning crew should have cleaned!!! The wall paper was totally ripped from the wall, not even an attempt to glue it back on, the entire place was disgusting. There were tiny flying BUGS!! climbing out of the dirty sink drain in the kitchen!! All VALIDATED by pictures which I showed the front desk when we stormed out of this filthy RESORT! In an attempt to being moved out of that room, prior to making the decision to leave, we called down to the front desk, voiced our complaints, was told the manager would immediately call us back or come to our room which never happened! No phone call, no manager! 20 minutes later! We went down to the front desk. Even the front desk person, who was now the third person we spoke to, did not get the manager but sympathized with the filthy pictures we showed her of our room! At that point, since even she didn't look surprised to see our pictures, we had no intention on staying in any other room based on what we had just experienced! We expressed that we did not expect to be charged even a dime for that room and were leaving! We didn't even know what we would do for a room at 7:30 at night, after traveling eight hours, but we knew we were NOT staying there! We were willing to sleep in our car if necessary! We have travel many many times all over and have NEVER experienced this level of incompetent cleaning of a guest room in a RESORT hotel! They actually have the nerve to charge additional fees because it is a RESORT. We paid $718.56 for this Groupon product. We compensating us in some way for the additional monies we spent on an alternative hotel. Yes, it was on the beach, it looked, from the 8th floor that it had a pool or pools, but where you are laying your head at night is the most important, at least to this family! I couldn't fathom as I looked around how people there were tolerating this level of disgust, I wanted to see if their rooms looked like ours or whether we got the "prize" room because we booked through Groupon! We had just stayed for two nights in a Hotel we booked through hotels.com and were quite pleased with the accommodations, quite unlike what we got booking through Groupon! I have always felt confident in my purchases through Groupon but this experience has totally put that thought process in future jeopardy! We have many family members who vacation in Myrtle Beach. Groupon needs to re-evaluate its support of this property...I will be highly attentive to the reviews this "resort" gets from this period of time from other clients staying there! This situation was unbelievable, if you think I wanted to risk losing $718.56 by leaving, I am not going to do that. We truly believed this was too filthy to stay in! Beware of what is sold on the websites, what you see is definitely not what you can get!
Great place for the family
pammyg76on 15/08/2017 15:56We really loved this resort. Right on the beach and 5 different pools to enjoy. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. Everyone were nice and friendly. We will stay here again went we return to the beach.
