Disgusting...Left Early
richm-travelon 13/08/2017 02:43We booked a last minute trip for a few days to the outer cape. Unfortunately, we selected the White Sands Resort Motel. I can't speak for other rooms, but if they give you Room 36, RUN! We opened the door and immediately were hit with a strong musty stench. We figured we would try to air the room out, but after a day and a half no such luck. That smell permeated our baggage and clothes creating even more work trying to get things clean when we got home. The smell wasn't the only problem. There was mold and mildew on the bathroom ceiling and all over the shower curtain, not to speak of the plunger that looked like it had been there for years. The mold and mildew wasn't confined to the bathroom however. There was visible mold on the curtain to the deck as well. We didn't dare walk on the carpet without shoes as it constantly felt moist and dirty (as a general rule hotels/motels on the beach really shouldn't have carpeting). The drawers to the dresser were so dirty or distorted from the humidity they wouldn't open. We could go on, from the dirty knife in the kitchenette drawer to sleeping on our towels, but hopefully you get the picture.
be careful what you booked in provincetown
Elizabeth Kon 09/08/2017 21:57the first room I booked in was same as the room you saw in Psycho...just creepy. we had to move to another room the next morning. this is a room with a balcony. you essentially paid for the view. the room is just not what you are paying for. bed linen are questionable. we ended up sleeping without the cover. the bathroom is the barest. one shampoo and couple of soap. the towel, you have a shake a couple of times so you make sure nothing is left there after their so called washing....just creepy. I think I am going to burn all my clothes after this trip. best to try hotels and accommodation close to the Commercial street. lots of vacancy there and these places you don't see reviewed. get a tourist map of provincetown to see the location of other hotels and motels. make sure you don't get some place noisy. this place really knows how to party.
Pleasantly surprised
Maggie Pon 01/08/2017 03:11I read the reviews after I'd booked​ the room. I was very leary about staying here. I was pleasantly surprised. My room was clean and housekeeping did a great job. The bus stop to Ptown is across the street and the hotel is right on the beach. It was a real bargain. The room had a refrigerator, that was very convenient. Yes, it is on the older side and not the Ritz but I would stay here again.

Brian Ron 29/07/2017 20:49Do not stay here. It is not as advertised. The rooms smell, and are extremely outdated. It doesn't look clean. There was a tampon on the floor of the room that I looked at to stay in. The owner had trouble opening the sliding door to get outside onto the deck. The appearance of this place overall is unkept. You will see if you pull up to the place and think, what did I do. There was no one else there when we went to look. I tried to cancel my booking and did not stay there. They refused to refund me the money. Don't stay here. So many other places. I went down the block, found a much more reputable place that was actually clean and didn't smell.
What a mess

The place is ready for the wrecking ball.
The location is great.it is right on the beach and a very short drive into town.
We reserved a oceanfront room. Upon arrival, the room had not been cleaned when we went in.
We went into town for 3.hours to give them time to clean it.
Later, when we called the front desk to see if they had removed the beer cans and changed the sheets yet, they didn't know what I was talking about.
The buildings are old and in need of too much repair. The pool is a mess.
We have stayed at a lot of places in truro-Provincetown each summer and know what it costs for a hotel in this area.
This place does not warrant the price per/night.
