Great view with spotty service

This place has an amazing view of Juneau and all the cruise ships coming in which Is wonderful.

The bed and rooms are nice, clean and comfortable.

The service is a little unusual, one night we only had a single towel for instance and there was no soap in the shower.

For the money the service needs a little improvement.

Great Trip, great place to stay

We just got back from our 25th Anniversary trip. We stayed in the Penthouse for 9 days over July 4th. If you have a stressful life and want to sit and watch nature from the privacy of your room and porch, this is the place! Even if it was raining, we could sit and watch the cruise ships come and go, watch the float planes take off and land, watch salmon jumping and eagles flying right outside our room, sitting on the porch/balcony with our Alaskan Amber beer and camera at the ready was just what we needed to "unplug." King size bed was nice, a little soft for us, but we still slept great. We had a simple continental breakfast in our room which Susan brought the day before so we could keep our bagels/muffins in the fridge so we could get up when we wanted. We had a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker which was perfect. The corner tube was lovely and 2-headed shower was nice with a window so we could keep watching nature! We watched the fireworks from our balcony. We rented a car, which we recommend, and it was a 3 minute drive over the bridge from Douglas Island (the inn) to downtown Juneau and plenty of places to eat. We recommend dogsledding on the ice field via helicopter and fishing for halibut and salmon with Lost in Alaska Adventures! We had time to see everything in Juneau and also rest/read our books. We brought DVDs to watch (the room has some) and Susan helped us schedule a float plane trip to Taku Lodge salmon bake when our other bear trip was cancelled due to weather. So we still got to see bears and ride in a float plane. Susan is very friendly and she gave us our space, also never a problem parking here, but there are stairs down from the road to all the rooms. Sheep beach on the Juneau side of the channel was a great spot to photograph eagles at low tide. The view from the Penthouse was worth the extra money. We would definitely come back!! Found all the locals friendly and helpful.

Fantastic and beautiful location. View of channel and Juneau from suite great no matter what time of day.
Very friendly inn keeper. Breakfasts are very good with choices. Beds are comfortable for a good nights sleep.
Clean and everything you need in a suite.
Enjoyed our stay. We have traveled a lot and this is at the top of our accommodations.

Susan is a really great host she even organised for free passes
For us to go up on the cable or tramway car(a saving of $120
Plus for 4 people. A different kind of set up in the 2 bedroom
Apartment downstairs but we actually took to it(bedroom plus
Curtained off second bedroom,with small kitchen) I liked the
Location looking from Douglas highway to juneau central
I believe that is quieter than being in central juneau. Susan
Offers very nice breakfasts with wine and beer as well for

This is a great place right on the beach. With a Perfect view of Juneau. The Service was fabulous. Each morning we had Breakfast in the room. And were served Wine and cheese at night. Was Even able to go fishing right outside the room. The perfect stay!!!
