What People are saying

As ever, fantastic

This is our 4th trip to the Beau Rivage Palace and,as ever, the hotel is excellent with fantastic service, great food, very comfortable rooms with the enchanting lake view, and a relaxing pool area and spa
A big thank you to the staff and management for maintaining 5 star plus standards and making our stay so enjoyable. This is a hotel that gets better with each visit. If possible, try and stay.

The location and quality of the hotel is great. The staff was friendly and the service was good. The price was a little more than it should be. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will come back again.

Shocking Experience

KristianK10on 30/07/2017 19:18

After confirming my reservation by phone, I arrived to the Miyako restaurant with my partner to be told that we do not have a reservation and to come back in 30 minutes . After discussing our situation with the waiting staff, my partner and I headed to have a drink at the bar and returned to the restaurant (no apologies were extended and the staff did not bother find a solution or even escort us to the bar). The whole experience was average and was made worse by the inattention and the lack of empathy. Nothing about the service nor the food was outstanding. The reason I am writing this review is the dessert we were served. After ordering a Tirsmisu from one of the other F&B outlets (to have in Miyako), we received a portion that seemed like it was scooped by a 5 year old child. This was truly not pleasing neither to the eyes nor the any of the other senses. I do not understand how a 5 star palace hotel allows themselves to serve such a dessert. We have images of the dessert untouched. I really hope the hotel team takes their guest feedback into consideration because such an experience is undeserving of 5 stars and does not match the prestige of this hotel.

Stunning historical palace where the great and the good have stayed

I have been coming to the Beau Rivage for the past 25 years and never tire of the glorious views of the lake and mountains from the terrace and the room. It is so uplifting I know it comes at a price but you are paying for an Institution where film stars and royalty have rested their heads including Charlie Chaplin; John Travolta, Keanu Reeves; various European and world royalty; sporting stars like Pele. All great company. I stayed in a lake view junior suite with stupendous views from the two balconies. Bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom well equipped. Service was excellent. Breakfast buffet was a feast fit for a King.

Beautiful Palace Horrible Service

samarth pon 27/07/2017 00:31

Lets start on a good note. The palace is located at one of the most beautiful spot in Lausanne and the building looks amazing. The rooms and all common areas are stunning to look at and the lawns are picture perfect. The Hotel is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful I have stayed in. Room service food & presentation gets 10/10

Now the downfall starts right from the doormen. The staff here is lousy and most of them are trainees so don't expect good service. "good morning" "good afternoon" doesn't exist in the hotel staff dictionary. The staff at the lobby bar is rude and doesn't even know the basics of serving drinks and would pass inappropriate racial comments on guests. Breakfast buffet is served in clumsy dishes and fruit bowls have been scratched black by cutlery. Even the plates were dirty not one or two but we had to remove 7 plates before finding clean ones, even the cutlery was stained yellow. The staff is not well trained in english and has difficulty understanding basic things like "Vanilla Milkshake" "Cold Coffee" "Hot Milk" "Toasted Bread". The Housekeeping staff in the corridor is a mix some are good but others are awful as they don't even smile back. I felt stupid whenever I would say good morning or good afternoon and would just get a blank face from them. I felt uncomfortable as the basic courtesy and welcome was missing. Once I complained about this, the staff that knew which room we were staying in would make a special effort to smile and greet and be nice but nothing changed for the regular staff around the hotel and made things even awkward. We went for their Le Montreux Boat ride as suggested by the Hotels Food and Beverage Director Mr. Grant (A Sweet Person) to make up for the bad service but it was nothing exceptional and I found it a little over hyped. They don't even know the basics of serving Sushi and would just keep it there on the Boat ride buffet. The chef didn't even know if there is something called wasabi whereas they have one of the most famous Japanese restaurants in-house and forget chop sticks.
The top staff here is nice but all servers and general staff are not fit for a hotel like this. The top management knows how to manage things but it doesn't help as everyone under them is really not well trained. The beautiful building, interiors and lawns are a waste with such service.
I felt really sad about my choice and would not recommend this hotel to fellow travelers friends and family as they don't deserve to have an awful vacation.

I would like to invite the staff at Beau Rivage Palace to a bad no Star hotel in India and ask them to learn the basics of Hotel Management here in India as even they know how to make guests comfortable without such fancy infrastructure. The basics of courtesy and welcome are same world over. You don't need a fancy place to make your guests comfortable but you need good staff to make a traveler's stay memorable.

Beau Rivage Palace must be one of the Most Beautiful Hotel in the world but they are nothing more than that. They are a member of the Leading Hotels of the world and they put that organization and its members to shame for choosing to stay there. I was vacationing with my parents after 7 years and wanted it to be a great memory but they were the scars to that memory.

The Beautiful Building and amazing views made my pictures beautiful but the staff messed up my mind and vacation. I have never in my life felt so uncomfortable at any hotel in the world even at the strangest of destinations.

The least this hotel can do is to learn basics or courtesy and service. I felt like I should apologize to the hotel for staying there. It was an experience I have never felt before and hopefully no other hotel Luxury or Budget can replicate it or would want to replicate it.
