What People are saying
Personally I would ROME elsewhere!
l0rna1993on 21/07/2015 21:55We arranged with the hotel manager, Marco, to be collected from the airport when we arrived; 40 minutes later the taxi still did not show up which meant he forgot to order it for us. We never received an apology.
Then, when we arrived at roughly 9pm, the only member of staff (Charlotte) seemed eager to go home and surprised us with an additional 30EURO charge to stay in Rome that we were not pre-warned about.
The location of this B&B is quite remote and residents from the apartments in which it is situated live above the actual B&B. On our first evening we were actually encountered by one of the residents masturbating behind us in the lobby and as two female travellers we found this quite frightening and had no staff to report this to as they had all gone home for the evening. The man followed us from the street, you would assume that because there are so many gates security wouldn't be as issue but it certainly was!
Our shower door fell off upon the first use, we reported this and were told that it would be fixed by the hotel manager and we heard nothing. On our last night (three days later) Marco knocked on our door at 8pm wanting to fix it, but it was too late as we had managed and were leaving the next day. We had been showering with no door which was a privacy issue; and the water was volcanic one moment and arctic the next. This was also reported but was not addressed.
Our room led out onto the main road and we were woken many times during the early hours by traffic and people outside. The window did not shut properly which meant we couldn't actually lock it to keep out some of the noise.
Breakfast was nice, but Charlotte didn't make any effort to lay the table or anything. She just told us to go in the fridge and help ourselves which made us feel awkward as we didn't know where any of the plates were ect. However another member of staff (Angela), on the last day laid out the table and prepared the breakfast foods in a way in which exceeded our expectations.
Free wifi? We had to ask for it to be turned on as Charlotte constantly had it off.
As for the hot tub, it is not free to use. It is 7.50EURO for half an hour's use and they require 24 hours prior notice in order to turn it on. This was not stated in the terms and conditions when we booked, we only discovered this when we arrived and were very disappointed.
The location in terms of attractions was good if you are able bodied. It required a 20 minute downhill walk to the Vatican and the walk back up, especially in the heat of the day was quite draining. Our room was basic and clean, the beds were actually really comfy and were the highlight of our stay at the B&B. However, the extra bedding we found in the wardrobe was stained with what looked like blood and we found a patch of mold next to the bed.
All we wanted when we arrived was a nice cup of tea, however, the kettle was broken and didn't actually plug into the wall!
Overall, it was an alright stay but the attention to detail is missing in both the staff and the building. You really do get what you pay for here!
close to Vatican

Holiday in Rome
Ollie Don 07/06/2015 21:50Very nice place to stay, easy to get to all the main attractions in Rome and we were told when we arrived what buses to get and given a detailed map. Plenty of food for breakfast wide variety and proper coffee machine, clean rooms and friendly staff. Would stay again :)
Just ok..
nicolas7579on 20/04/2015 12:48I visited Rome for the first time and i also decided for the first (and last) time to book a room on a Bed and Breakfast. This is my experience in details of the room:
(+) The room was big, enough space for luggage and there was a nice closet for clothes. There was free Wi-Fi, the location was quiet, there was a free printer for printing your airline tick, ets, and a laptop available for browsing. Staff was friendly (when available).
(-) The room was not so clean, i found stains on blanket where we were sleeping, mould on some places on the wall, stains on the floor - Cleaning service once every 3 days - Location far from historical places - No shops or restaurants near - Room not soundproof, next to kitchen, woke up every morning from noise of people preparing their breakfast. - Not enough breakfast for everyone unless you wake up early. - No 24 h reception, only 1-2 hours in the morning there was one person for cleaning the dishes. Otherwise no one to find during the day. - No storage room to put your bags when cheking out. - Very early checkout (10 am)
Pleasant Rome B&B
Julia Lon 26/05/2014 11:18We stayed at Ai 2 Papi for 4 nights during our trip to Italy. The accommodation was good, especially for Rome. The room we were allocated, which was one of four in total, was small but not inconvenient. A good sized bathroom and good storage space meant we could settle for our short stay and the internet connection was excellent. There was a very nice outside area for guests to use up to 9.30pm. Breakfast was good, although if you want coffee you were asked to pay a euro. As the B&B is very small this means that it can get noisy if there are groups staying, which we did have on our last couple of nights. The shower in our room was not good, with very little power and constant readjustments of temperature was needed. The hosts were extremely helpful and willing to give advice on getting around Rome, help with bus tickets etc.
Location was good, surprisingly quiet for Rome, and very close to the Vatican. Transport links to the centre of Rome were excellent, with a very convenient bus at the end of the road (No. 46 & 49). The metro station is harder to find (approx. 15 min walk), the entrance being on the right at the bottom of the stairs when you get there, the left is the train station. If you decide to walk into Rome then it can get a little hairy on the very badly maintained, tiny pavements. In the information provided by the B&B they did state 48 Euros cost for taxi from Fiumicino Airport, however we were quoted 80 Euros because it is outside of the centre. Instead we took a shuttle, basically sharing a larger taxi with others, which cost 20 Euros each.
We had agreed to pay by card on check out but when we arrived their card machine was down and they asked us to pay by cash. We weren't told in advance meaning we would have to withdraw a lot of cash, at an extra cost to us, in Rome. Thankfully the card machine was fixed before we left, however the lack of communication was disappointing as if we had known in advance we would have made the proper arrangements in England before we left.
Overall our stay was very good and I would recommend this B&B to others.
