Not bad for a short stay

mariaelaiaon 26/11/2015 16:11

Our room faced the yard and was spacious and quiet. Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was served in a bar next door and included just one hot drink and one croissant which was in no way suffucient. That's why kitchen supplies (mugs, plates, cutlery, microwave, tea, coffee) in common area were a nice addition. There was a mini market as well as a bar and a trattoria just two steps away from the hotel. Subway station Vittorio Emanuele (red line) is just 20 meters away. 10 minutes walk from Termini train station.
Unfortunately the room was very cold with a cold tile floor (we stayed in the end of November) and smelled badly. The air conditioner didn't help. And the neighborhood though being close to Santa Maria Maggiore was a bit dark and scary because of all shady characters walking around.

Awesome

Gabriele is a great host and very friendly. The place is a little, cute and old flat in center of Rome :) it's just 5 min far from Termini by walk. we spent great time in there.
The elevator , which is in the building, is really authentic. i like it. :)
But bathroom is very small.

Great time at B&B Da Vinci - and Trattoria Monti

Spent a week in Rome, and although we usually prefer luxury accomodations, we thought we would "slum it" and test a B&B instead, figuring we could spend the money we saved on great food and wine instead. Got a recommendation to try B&B Da Vinci, and it was perfect! :)

Close to Termini train station (and buses/tourist buses and subways), it was located in a beautiful residential building on a nice street in a lovely area. We booked a triple room (bed-sofa for our daughter) and got a great room with lovely French doors overlooking the street and an ancient Roman arch! The beds may not be luxury hotel quality, but still, we spent all day walking around, so by the time we hit the sack we were so exhausted that we could have slept on anything! The bathroom was clean, there is a little kitchenette where you can eat if you want to buy and cook your own food, and you get breakfast tickets for Bar Piccolo across the street, where you get a juice or coffee and a croissant or other bun, which is really all you need if you plan on eating Italian style for lunch...

We arrived pretty much when we expected to, and were met by Gabriele who gave us keys and showed us around, and he was very helpful throughout our stay. Molto grazie, Gabriele!

One of the best things of B&B Da Vinci is that, across the street was Trattoria Monti, a fabulous place that we had read about on the front page of SAS inflight magazine! We had two fabulous meals there during our stay, lucky enough to snatch reservations ahead of time. Unforgettable food, great atmosphere, really friendly staff.

We highly recommend B&B Da Vinci, we had a great time and didn't feel like we were slumming it at all - it acually felt more like we were lucky enough to live in Rome, in a fantastic old building. Wonderful feeling, to "come home" at the end of a hard day's touristing... :)

Strategically located and value for money!

Stayed here for two night with my fiancee (then) and we roamed around Roam to see the Coliseum and other attractions.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly and very hospitable lady. It is just critical to inform them your estimated time of arrival as you will not be able to enter the building without a key or contact inside. This is a residential building with a floor where rooms are rented out. The room we stayed at was large and comfortable. It had all the necessities... shampoo bath soap etc and it has a cable TV (but all in italian).

Coffee and tea are available along the hallway and you may use the fridge for your beverages. cleaning is available everyday. from our room you will have a good view of a church and people walking along.

I love this place and will come back for sure! I stayed at a hotel before in the suburbs and they were charging more compared to this short term rent.
