What People are saying

Great stay!

Fireball2014on 26/04/2016 00:41

I loved the location, not far from the train station and close to the main strip in Reggio for all shopping. My room was clean and large, great price too. The owner was kind and very helpful. He organized a day trip for me and 2 other people to Gerace. We took the train to Locri where a friend of Steve's met us and brought us up to Gerace. The train ride was spectacular because the tracks are close the sea (Ionian) and the beaches are relatively unspoiled - no hotel resorts. I ate at a great seafood restaurant not far from the B&B called Trattoria del Pesce Fresco - order pasta allo scoglio and whatever else you like, you won't be disappointed. I also loved pasta 'nduja it is spicy and I tasted a liquor called Bergamot and love it. I did a day trip to Scilla, spent time walking around the town (very small) and on the beach, it was fantastic. Reggio boardwalk along the sea is wonderful, you can see Sicilia across the straight of Messina.

Steve - the owner - brilliant man with lots of local knowledge

I pre-booked this hostel and rocked up around 5pm to find it was having a deep clean and not in use. Luckily the cleaners contacted the owner and Steve arrived - Steve was one of the nicest hostel owners I have met - he had a wealth of knowledge about the area and proceeded to take me to another one of his hostels above the Crocodile Grill sandwich pub. So I didnt have a chance to have a look at the Delfina but I am sure it is fab. I would definitely book here again and make sure I have chance and time to go on a tour with Steve.

Awful experience

Although I had got a confirmed booking from B&B Delfina, once I arrived there at 10.00 pm I found with surprise that it was closed. Nobody answered to my calls - both at the door and by phone. It seemed to be a completely closed B&B, perhaps open only in summer, but still they confirmed the booking. No sign was displayed and after sometime I had no other option than to give up and walk in Reggio looking for another place (I ended far away, to Hotel Excelsior, good).

Steeve Parisi made our vacation and birthday celebration in Calabria amazing!
His advise and suggestions were wonderful. There were 4 of us heading to nearby Scilla for a day
at the beach followed by a birthday lunch celebration. Steeve arranged for the piccola machina (covered golf cart) to stop on the way from the beach to the restaurant at another lovely cafe and surprised us with antipasto and wine! There even was a birthday greeting on the menu board.
The rooms were great, AC worked well, breakfast was wonderful and our breakfast hostess Gabrielle was a happy accommodating woman. I highly reccommend this B&B for a true Calabrian experience.

Thank you Steeve!
