What People are saying

Long weekend at Rome

Pantelis Aon 05/03/2017 19:23

Don't judge it from the exterior, it's an old building in a bit so good neighborhood. But the rooms of la casa dell'arte are very clean. It has air conditioning, big flat TV, hair dryer, hot water all the time, an was very clean. The bathroom is small and the shower very very small. It is best value for money! I would stay again of course. The room was exactly as the photo.

Perfect for a short stay

Basic, but clean and air-conditioned room with all the basic amenities. On the fifth floor so no noise from the street despite a street-facing room. All for the price of 40 EUR. From what I searched this is one of the best budget options around Termini.

Worst B&B - don't go

I went to Rome and made a huge mistake by booking this horrible place. Expedia call centre recommended and dont know why they did to me? No reception first of all and this horrible hotel is a converted flat into rooms in a old building at 5th floor.

Service was appalling and the person Alassendra I spoke over the phone never seen or met when I was there was very rude. I called as soon as I entered this scary place and mentioned I need to cancel as this place is not upto my standards so I can pay just for a night, I was forced to pay for all 3 nights with his helpers like proper italian mafia type and then they passed the phone to me and Alassendra asked me when will I leave in the morning, I said now I paid so I will stay for all 3 nights. Then he/she replied so oh now you like the place in a sarcastic way. This place ruined my mood and my holiday. There was no breakfast and to be honest I should have not expect it after the attitude they showed me a night before. Bought my own bread and teabags, horrible view from the room and small dirty toilet. The next day I met a couple on the door who were hesitant to get in to the building, they were asking the address of the same hotel. I told them yes I am staying there but there is no hotel sign out here. So they asked is it safe place to stay here as the whole place looks as bad as the service. Very disappointed and if the hotel management reads this so for them I will just say Thank you for ruining my Holidays!!!

Good budget rooms with bath

My fourth time staying at La Casa dell’Arte. It is still a good option for “experienced” budget conscious travelers. The place is clean, the beds are comfortable, the air conditioner works good, all rooms have private bathroom with shower. As with many B&Bs in Italy, the staff is not on premises except to check you in and do daily cleaning, so it is important to coordinate your arrival time with the proprietor (Alessandra). Alessandra speaks perfect English, but her father (who does much of the check-ins) does not. The maid speaks no English. There are 6 rooms located on the 5th floor (with elevator) and 3 rooms located on the 1st floor (with stairs). The 5th floor rooms have thin walls, so you can hear your neighbors if they are talking. The beds in the double rooms are actually two single mattresses pushed together. The beds in the single rooms are actually a small double bed (120cm). WiFi works good on the 1st floor and in some of the rooms on the 5th floor (but not all). They have returned to serving breakfast in the room (packaged pastries and crackers, jelly, processed cheese spread, and instant coffee). The building is old, but they have installed a new front door and new gate with good locks. The streets surrounding the Termini Station where this B&B is located are full of immigrants, panhandlers, and homeless.

Worst B&B ever experienced, don't go there

Hard to find
we had to wait 5 hours!!!! on arrival before someone opened the door (we arrived at 14h00, we entered at 19h00)
the owner was really rude and couldn't care less about letting us wait, we also had to pay 12 euro at the station for a baggage locker, which she didn't want to pay back.
the shower was broke
on our departure day we had to check out at 11h but our flight was at 17h so we asked the owner upon arrival if it was possible to leave our baggage there until 15h (the least thing she could after letting us wait for 5 hours) she said we had to ask again on the day of departure, ofcourse no one was there that day...
= don't go to this B&B, just don't.
