Second visit - unmatched hospitality

I stayed for 5 days in 2011 and now in 2017 with my wife for another 2 days. Nothing had changed. The Trasimeno area is as beautiful as ever, The lovely B&B Villa Trasimeno still has got this magic your don't see very often. The combination af a breathtaking view over the lake, the nicely decorated rooms and an unmatched hospitality make you feel very good indeed. Carmela and Luana are the perfect hosts.

We stayed for 4 days and wished we had stayed longer. Carmelo and Luana are wonderful hosts. The Villa is physically gorgeous, with fabulous views of Lake Trasimeno. It is warm and comfortable and the view from our room was tranquil and lovely. The food is truly world-class, with Chef Carmelo able to deliver 4 course meal after four course meal, each as good or better than the last. This he does after spending the day as tour guide to wonderful little old towns, great places to see, and with an insider's knowledge of the cool people to meet. We will be back.

Villa Trasimeno is really special. We spent 5 nights/4 full days with Carmelo and Luana, enjoying the lovely setting, delicious food and wine, and Carmelo's daily tours. From the moment Carmelo picked us up at the train station, we felt like we were visiting an old friend, a friend who just happens to be a gourmet chef and extraordinary tour guide. Long, but leisurely days of touring small Umbrian and Tuscan towns, followed by delicious 4-course dinners.

Really, we cannot recommend this place highly enough. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Our visit here was magical. Amazing views and unmatched hospitality. You will not go hungry here! We had an awesome cooking class one day and all other meals were nothing short of spectacular. Carmelo (owner) is also an amazing tour guide and took us to the most beautiful places in Umbria and Tuscany.

Beautiful Umbria / Tuscany vacation Bed & Breakfast

We stayed at Villa Trasimeno for 5 days in June 2016 with Carmelo and Luana, who owns this Bed and Breakfast. We were treated extremely well, with an incredible breakfast every morning prepared by Chef Carmelo, out on the Lanai which overlooks the lake. Carmelo then took us on customized daily tours of Tuscany and Umbria cities and villages that we had designed to see, These were full day tours and usually , we left by 9:30AM and were back by 6:30-7:00PM, Once we came back , we let Carmelo and Luana know when we would like dinner and it was ready for us at that time. Dinner was inceredible, as Carmelo cooked for us , which included two types of pasta , veal or beef , salad , fresh vegetables, , desert , bottle of red and white wine with each dinner. We stayed in the King Emanuele room which has a beautiful view of Lake Trasimeno and is quite spacious. This is a charming villa which is on the side of a small hillside with breathtaking views of the lake.. Our stay was incredibly peaceful and very relaxing and the location is within proximity of all of Tuscany and Umbria, including Florence and ROme. Carmelo took us in his 8 seat van to the following cities: Perugia, , Cortona ( under the tuscan Sun village), Deruta ( where we saw lovely pottery being handmade ) , Pienza, a Montalcino winery where we had a wine tasting with bruscetta, Montepulciano village, another medieval town with incredible wine, We also visited Passignano and other small towns on our own as we also had a car. Carmelo will pick you up for a fee from NAy airport , Florence , or Rome, and he will also take you on overnight excursions to Cinque Terre, or Amalfi coast if you would like to go there. Carmelo speaks fluent English as well as Italian and is extremely knowledgeable on the history of the entire area, Italy and the towns he took us to. He knew many of the local people in the villages and towns and we became very good friends with Carmelo and Luana and did not want to leave. They treated us like family. If you are looking for a trip to Italy with a true sense of the culture and living and food of Italy, I would highly recommend Villa Trasimeno for your vacation.
