Perfectly located

Beautiful room
Well equipped (microwave, blow dryer, fridge)
But-
-There was no toilette paper+ There was no staff around- he left us a phone number. We messaged him but eventually, since he did not respond, just went out & bought some in the grocery store.
-Also the shower drain clogged pretty quickly so after a couple of minutes the shower was flooded.
Quirky in a very nice way
nsbastion 28/09/2015 22:09First time we've stayed in what felt like a converted store room but it was really very good and great fun. Spotlessly clean, secure and safe, comfortable big bed with excellent air conditioning plus an endless supply of hot water for the shower. And right in the very heart of Bari old town less than a 5 minutes walk to the ferry port. Great value for money and all coordinated by a charming young man who helped us in every way - including personally looking after our luggage for a whole day while we explore the town.
Clean and comfortable
bap2015on 07/07/2015 06:57We stayed here for two nights. The B&B is hard to find as there is no sign in front of it, only a small sign fixed to a wall. There is no office that we could find. I'm not sure how many rooms it has; at least two, I guess. When we finally walked through a maze of streets and stumbled upon it (we did have a map), we were met by a young man who seemed in a hurry to collect our payment (in cash, no receipt) and depart. We never saw him again or anyone else connected with the B&B.
The breakfast aspect is marginal, consisting of a a croissant and espresso provided at a cafe about a five-minute walk distant. We saw no evidence of breakfast in the B&B itself.
The lock on the front door of our ground floor room was very difficult to work. It took us about 5 minutes to get back in the first time, causing us considerable panic.
The room was clean and fairly comfortable. The air conditioning unit is in the bathroom and does not cool the bedroom area well.
Overall, we would look for somewhere else to stay on a return trip to Bari.
Fairly cheerful, not very cheap
Ally Pon 18/05/2015 20:08The rooms are hard to find (especially if arriving at night, as we did) - there are no signposts in nearby streets, and even when you've actually arrived there's not an office or anything so no doors to knock on. (I just mention this as something to be aware of - the owner was looking out for us so he didn't take long to arrive, and we were also offered a pickup from the airport but decided not to take it).
Our room was through a door immediately onto the street. This means it's a little dark - no light at the front unless you have the street door open, and the back is just a window onto a tiny internal courtyard. On the plus side, I imagine this makes it nice and cool in mid summer. The room was clean and fairly comfortable. The bathroom was pretty basic - not a separate, ensuite room, but with a shower cubicle so sort of one step up from a wet room. The shower was good, though, with hot water.
Overall, it's fine for a short stay, but not really worth the price for what you get. They could easily try just a little bit harder to make up the value for money (how about a nice mini shampoo and shower gel, instead of just a small bottle of bog standard supermarket brand?). We were disappointed to find that it wasn't possible to leave our bags with the hotel during the day (not possible, it turns out, because there's no reception / office, just rooms), as the website said nothing about this. To his credit, the owner arranged for us to be able to leave them at a hotel across town, but this was quite a lot out of our way, and we had chosen the hotel for its specific location a short work from the port.
Lovely hidden gem
antonella ton 14/11/2014 16:06We have just spent one night in this delightful spot in the heart of "Bari Vecchia", and we could not have felt more welcomed!
Gianni, the owner, was quick to make us feel at home and even took us to a nearby bar in the morning, where we had a lovely breakfast "al fresco".
The room was the oldest in the old town, dated 9th century, with a very firm and comfortable mattress and an amazing shower...and yes...we did knick the lovely shower gel!!
Just outside there are columns from an ancient temple and it's easy to grasp the colourful atmosphere among the locals.
All the amenities, with amazing restaurants, wine bars and the pier are a 5 minute walk through the ancient alleys.
Highly recommend it!
