Great accomodation!
Oskar Gon 26/02/2017 10:22Flavio made our stay perfect! We stayed in 4bed room with bathroom. There is a nice view from the balcony and a bus/tram stop near by. It is only few stops from Vaticano and Colloseo. City town - 10minutes by train. You may even go to Ostia (at the see) with direct train from Pyramide (5min walk).
I can fully recommend B&B Testaccio as a great place to stay in Rome and Flavio as your host! :)
Perfect neighborhood, close to sites, yet quiet and local.
jason kon 08/05/2016 02:50We stayed 2 nights at Testaccio in April and had a great stay. We had a great view from the balcony over a park and got a bottle of wine and some prosciutto right on arrival. The room was clean and as advertised. The neighborhood is perfect for seeing Rome, yet coming back to a relaxing space that doesnt feel touristy. Its about a 20min walk to the colliseum and less to Trastevere, but far enough from the crazy atmosphere. The park felt very casual and there is a nice simple cafe downstairs where the breakfast is served. Also a grocery store just on the corner. Remember that there is a city tax.
Authentic Rome
StarkCalibreon 18/04/2016 20:27We booked our 3 nights at the B&B Testaccio because, to be honest, we are cheapskates and wanted somewhere that would keep the cost of our holiday down - it just needed to be somewhere where we could sleep that had a lock on the door, four walls and a roof. The B&B Testaccio proved to be so much more than this, truly a hidden gem - we are EXTREMELY happy that we found it.
The room was well appointed, bright and airy, with a big double bed (and a spare single bed), plenty of space to hang clothes, and a desk with a small television. We also had a private bathroom, containing a small shower; and there was an air-conditioning unit (but given our visit was in April, we didn't use this). Towels were provided, the room had a hair drier, there was a small fridge, wifi was free and fast, and there was a helpful information pack containing information about the B&B, the owners' mobile numbers, taxis, etc.
We only met one of the owners, Flavien, since our stay was only short and we were keen to fit in as much as possible so weren't in our room much, but he was extremely helpful and friendly, and full of information (we can only imagine that the other one was too - judging by the comments of the other people who were checking out at the same time as us). Also, he spoke excellent English, which was great since both my partner and I speak very little to no Italian - much to our shame.
Breakfast was provided by the cafe downstairs, your standard pastry/coffee/juice affair but with plenty of other things available for purchase. There was also a small supermarket to the other side of the property on the ground floor. The surrounding area was full of a variety of restaurants and bars.
Transport links were good, lots of buses running up and down the main street only a couple minutes walk away, and a close by Metro station. But everything was within walking distance too (e.g. the Colosseum and Circo Massimo were about 20 minutes of easily navigated streets away).
I really can't fault this place!
Great hospitality, very clean
Robert Bon 19/08/2015 09:39I stayed there for a week with my family. The rooms are very clean, Elena is a great host, helping a lot to people, she speaks English, Spanish and French.
WiFi is free, the neibourhood is quite calm, the room was equipped with a small fridge. If you wish to have working air-conditioning you have to pay 2€ a day.
The only inconvenience was a bathroom shared with another room - but bear in mind - it's very clean there. Thanks Elena :)
All i needed for my vacation in Rome
dana pon 13/08/2015 15:20I loved staying at the B&B Testaccio because of the simple but very clean rooms, great neighborhood and atmosphere, not very far but away from the busy centre.
Elena is so great, she will help you with every question you have. She is providing a free map of the city and a very detailed other map of beautiful Trastevere neighborhood which can be accessed in 10 minutes.
Lots of great bus connections to Termini, downtown, Vatican. I enjoyed so much taking the bus as it took me where ever I wanted in no time. I prefer it over the subway as I can see beautiful Rome leisurely.
Metro Piramide is a few minutes away as well.
Testaccio neighborhood is really charming, explore this place that barely has any tourists, just the residents.
Great pizzerias and the Gran Mercado ( The food market) are all in proximity.
Will definitely come back to this lovely neighborhood and to B&B Testaccio.
Thanks Elena for being the greatest host! I had a great time in Rome staying at your B&B.
