What People are saying
Rude and Bizarre

Wow! First of all we arrived (1pm) to an empty and what appeared to be derelict house dispite prior messages requesting early check in so we could get ready for a friends wedding. After repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact Bryony we were forced to get ready in the overgrown garden which was akin to a horse paddock and full of animal waste! We left for the wedding and spent most of wedding breakfast trying to contact them to confirm we actually had a bed that evening. Eventually we found a kind friend Ben, sober and willing to return us to the b&b to collect our key at 8pm. This time Bryony was at home but we kind of wished she hadn't been! She proceeded to touch up Bens thigh and seemed to have an unhealthy obsession with his car. After complaining she was too busy to reply to us we hit the road and got back to the party. The room was spacious with an excellent view but cold and seemingly decorated by a retired 1960s hippy. Some people call this eclectic - I call it an extortionate slum. The breakfast was served in the room and was basic consisting of cereal, toast, one tiny tomato and jam. We started to call a taxi at 9am to retrieve our car from the wedding venue but Bryony seemingly overheard and came into our room despite my husband being semi naked to offer us a lift. This was a seemingly kind gesture. On arrival home, I realised I had left my glasses at her home and offered to cover return postage if she could return them. Her response stressed the disruption of catering for guests in her home and she even blackmailed us by stating she would only return the glasses if we made a donation to her daughter's horse ridding, I quote "It makes the drudgery side of B&B easier for all concerned as a family it's pretty disruptive all kinds of people saying in your home."!! She also complained she had to go out of her way to drop us 5mins down the road despite this being an offer from her in the first instance?!?! A rude, excentric host and truly one of the most strange nights away from home.
Stay at your peril!!

1. The house is very cold, a lot of mould and the landlord doesn't provide heating or hot water on taps
2. There isn't access to kitchen, but a small dirty utility room
3. The rent cost isn't real, Bryony demands a lot more, depending on how desperate is the tenant to move in
4. There is no privacy, Bryony enters in every room without knocking when the tenants are in and also when they are out
5. Though she is an old woman, she has no problem in making indecent proposals to male tenants, also touching their arms to check the "muscles"
6. The tenants living in rooms without en-suite are invited to shower in her en-suite, to watch them when coming out
By all means stay away from Bryony! She is very rude when confronted!
Lovely :)

Great stay, very friendly host, Bryony. Lovely room with a view over the valley and delicious homemade cake and a cup of tea on arrival. Bryony came to the rescue with some spare wellies for exploring the nearby woods. Would definitely stay here again!
Won't be staying again

We stayed here for 1 night, on our arrival there was nobody to greet us after our long journey to get here. We were finally shown to our room to find that there was no hot water for a bath that evening and no hot water in the en-suite for a shower in the morning, we had to use another room for a shower. There was nobody to make representation to regarding the lack of hot water.
Breakfast the next morning wasn't much better, there was a stack of office papers and other items just pushed to the end of the breakfast table leaving just enough room for 2 place settings. A young teenage house guest was left in charge to cook breakfast, although she was very pleasant it was way out of her league. Breakfast consisted of the thinnest bacon imaginable, fried eggs and as an after thought, some cooked/fried potatoes which were cold in the middle. We paid £5.00 each up front for a cooked breakfast.
A polite letter was sent to the owner and there has not been the courtesy of a reply.
Not one to recommend.
Excellent and deer not dear

This is an excellent B&B with a very comfortable bed an excellent continental breakfast and a view from the room to exceed expectations, (see photo attached). The room itself is well furnished and contains some unique pieces. We recommend this establishment.
