When you just need a place to sleep

eliaskoivumaaon 30/05/2016 09:18

We were in Rome 7 days and we just needed a cheap place to sleep near the city center. This B&D was a excellent choice! At first it was a bit hard to find because there were no special sign but a nice old man guided us in the right house. The stuff was very nice and helpful! The rooms were clean (rooms were cleaned daily) and big. Also there was a fridge in the room and free Wi-Fi which was very nice! Things that you need to notice is that the rooms had no soundproofing...Also the reservation included breakfast...which was only coffee and one dry bread. BUT you can use the kitchen freely. The easiest way to get to the city was to take tram which stopped just 300-500m from the B&D.

There are lot of places to stay at in Rome! Not this one.

Terrible rip off of a place. Do not stay here this guy is never their when you check in because it's not really a hotel. He will not speak to you once you check in. The bathroom leaks water all over the floor from the shower, he does nothing. I can not stress enough that this guy is a thief for charging as much as he does with as poor service as he provides. You will be stuck waiting for him in the rain if you do not have means of getting a hold of him via WIF or cell service. Bring a phone that has service in Rome. I hadn't gotten a cellphone yet and informed him via email the time when we'd be coming in. Of course when we arrive in the pouring rain nobody's home. This is a continuing problem because ppl kept ringing the buzzer while we were trying to sleep. I never buzzed anyone in because A;These are complete strangers I'd be letting in. B: they are not my guests and it's not my job to check people in. Once we found a coffee place with WIFI we were able to get a hold of him through skype. It took him another 35 min to get to the place. Then he had the audacity to say that the WIFI password is posted on the wall in the lobby of the flat! Wow thanks! We'd have to be able to get in first in order to get that password information wouldn't we? Once again I can not stress this enough DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!

Nice place to stay

My boyfriend, my two friends and myself stayed here in September. It was a very nice little place. Had air conditioning, good size rooms, comfortable beds, small kitchen and only one bathroom. But seeing as it was just us staying there and we are all friends it didn't really bother us.
It was a bit away from the main attraction but at the bottom of the hill bus number 8 took you to the sights. There is also a lovely little kabab shop at the bottom of the hill near the supermarket, which is great value for money and the owners are lovely and friends

Nice apartment, a little far from the attractions.

We visited Rome in September, the apartment was what we (two couples) wanted. The lady who met us was helpful, beds were comfy, the apartment was clean although there were bits and pieces like bread left from other travelers. The apartment were that it was slightly further from the attractions than I would have liked, but the transport links compensated for this (once you had figured out which side of the road you had to be on to get to the Colosseum and bought your 3 day bus ticket). Apart from that there was a slight damp issue in the bathroom. As there were only the four of us staying in the apartment and we were friends we had no issue with the shared bathroom, however if there had been more guests there would potentially have been clashes over bathroom time as there was only one toilet and approximately 6 rooms which could have 2 people in them. 12 adults and one bathroom is not ideal but if you go in off season I doubt you'd have that issue.

Great room but impractical for late visitors

No reception, it was an apartment where the owner didn't live, and the bell rang loudly in the rooms, so as some guests arrived early and owner was late, we were woken up by incredibly annoying and long noice. Owner was friendly and helpful though.
