guy bon 08/06/2017 08:06Efficient 24hr staff; some English spoken ;well located in a busy CBD like area ; rooms excellent and well maintained ; housekeeping very efficient . early morning calls no problem ...no foreign language TV stations available . Close to 4 Star .
Comfortable and clean
julphilon 24/05/2017 04:44We know this hotel as Beijing Jinnian Hotel. It's the same address as the Shannxi Mansion Jinnian hotel so I am assuming it's the same hotel slightly different names. We stayed here as part of an organised tour. It was very spacious and comfortable. Clean and amenities worked. Free wifi. There didn't seem to be many shops etc around the hotel. This didn't matter to us as we were so busy with organised events. Take note the staff did not speak English. But front desk had an app on their phones you talk into to translate. The ATM was out of order for some days. And they had restrictions on how much money you could exchange. Breakfast was very good. Would recommend.

Non of stuff speaks English while the call themselves speak English
If you arrive late good luck as there is no room service to order dinner at the room and even kitchen close at 10pm
You have to pay to use the swimming pool
Gym open at 9am !!!! So can't go before work and close at 10pm!
I booked a tour with the hotel before I come to be scheduled the following day of checking in and once I arrived they said the tour doesn't accept foreigners and haven't thought about alternative and we were already almost midnight !!! So U had to push them to find something as they didn't inform before so I can manage.
Light switchs on the room fall apart from the wall if you touch them
Rooms is smiling and bathrooms is not properly cleaned at all.
They only give you one key card for the room
The only good thing about this hotel is the breakfast area.
Bottom line not recommended
Comfortable and near Forbidden City
DownunderMelbourneon 03/10/2012 15:20Although hotel is only a few years old, the bathroom is in need of a new paint job in ceiling of shower cubicle as already mouldy. Beds are firm and quite comfortable. Bottles of water replenishend daily with packets of local bickies. Chinese restaurant serves fairly good Beijing cuisine and priced very reasonable by Australian standards. Local restaurants available if one is adventurous. Biggest complain is that air con in room unable to be adjusted lower and stuck on about 25C. Apparently local regulations to conserve electricity. Do not expect any non-smoking rooms to be available!!!!Fairly well stocked mini market attached to hotel.
not a 4 star hotel
atccon 10/08/2012 02:09Went to Bejjing and stayed for a week here. It's not a 4 star hotel by north American standards. It's 2.5-3 star at best. Its old and smells of cigarette smoke everywhere, toilets barely flush, A/C is turned way downed, so rooms never get cooler than 25 deg C. No one speaks English at the front counter. Food at restaurant is average. The only good thing was it had free wifi in the lobby.
