Stayed here as part of a group trip and was far from impressed. Check in slow room was dam right old tatty and dirty. Curtains falling down white curtains grey, air con hardly existent blowing a candle out had more impact. Asked to be moved then second room toilet did not work properly but we were told as we had been moved once we could not be moved again. The staff member who came to the room told us nothing worked properly in the hotel and it was closing so nothing was to be repaired. Breakfast was a joke they were taking things away before you finished eating and very little choice. The hotel was located on the outskirts and in a right shabby part of town. We even saw a local urinating up against a wall. Streets full of litter and smelt awful. Not impressed at all, avoid at all costs. As we were part of a tour we reported it to our guide but did not do any good. Keep clear would certainly not recommend, cheap and nasty typical for a lot of Chinese hotels. We found out later that we had been put on the unreferbished floors.

This is a sizeable hotel which provides decent facilities but is not handily located. It is too far to walk into town and will take at least 10 minutes to get to a tube station. We took a taxi into the centre one day, and are still recovering from the experience. Driving in Beijing seems to be based on waiting for the other road users to 'blink' and let you through. It cost 19 yuan to get to one of the shopping streets near Tiananmin Square.
Breakfast on the first floor (Floor 2) is quirky and it can take a while to work out what is where. Tea and coffee are in the dining room - and frequently run out - whilst everything else is outside. There are very few gluten free options apart from some fruit and boiled eggs.
We had our evening meal in the hotel once and it was unremarkable.
Our room on Floor 11 had been nicely refurbished in a Chinese style - including a tea area in the bay window - but floors 10 and 12 had not yet been refreshed.

Here as part of a large group (about 100). The check in and check out were nice and smooth, and the general consensus was that the rooms were reasonably comfortable - although there seemed to be some variation in the opinions expressed within the group on that.
I had the excitement of getting back to my room at midnight to find water pouring through the ceiling. I was moved fairly promptly to another room but no word of apology or explanation.
The hotel is let down most by the staff who gave the impression that their life would be so much easier without all these annoying guests clogging the place up.
The Dongfang Hotel a 5 minute walk along the road looked like a nicer place and gave better service - with a smile!

I recently stayed at the Rainbow Hotel and had an excellent trip. The hotel is fantastic. I got a suite on the 7th floor and found it to be very well appointed. The quality of fixtures is impressive. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and had a good shower. The views from the room windows were great.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made the stay easy. Breakfast was an impressive affair with a wide range of foods and drinks available.
Overall a very impressive place to stay and I will definitely be back next time I am in Beijing!

Staff aren't very friendly. Unable to use gym in opening hours. Safe wasn't working.
Room clean, bathroom ok. Hot water. Aircon not great so we opened Windows. Wouldn't stay here again if returning to Beijing
The food was alright in the buffet breakfast
