Someone got this right

Visited this little gem on a trip down the river Thames. Easy walk from the moorings nearby. Had an excellent late breakfast here served by a naturally friendly and helpful waitress (thank you for the pen loan!). My colleague has stayed here in the past and was very enthusiastic about the rooms too. Great!

Special Dining Experience

Went as a special occasion due to this being a pricey restaurant but did not regret it. Staff were brilliant, useful, polite! The food was exceptional - all 3 courses were five star quality and filled you up! I could not flaw this restaurant and will certainly be going back!

Yummy Lunch

Another yummy lunch here. The staff are great, always make you feel welcome and bring drinks and food very efficently. I would recommned the Bel and the Dragon "House" wines. Not their actual house wines but branded under the Bel and the Dragon. They're completely delcious and worth ordering a bottle. We had the scallops, fresh fish and duck which all ate very well. The fish was beautifully bright with lots of interesting flavours. It was like a spring garden if it doesn't sound too cliche. Will be going back again soon for some more yummy food and great service.

Over Priced and hot food turned up warm and cold

Was invited to this restaurant for a lunch time birthday celebration and although the place has a nice ambience it was let down by its food and prices. There were five of us and we ordered 4 different meals with a mixture of shared vegetables. I had a cod dish, which turned up warm rather than hot, which was the same for the pasta dishes, plus some of the vegetables and the fish pie (which you would expect to be piping hot) was actually cold inside and had to be sent back. This tells you all you need to know about the standard of the chefs that they can send warm food that is supposed to be hot plus a cold fish pie and not check its inside temperature - 'elementary dear Watson'! I wasn't impressed with my cod dish although the others seemed to enjoy the courses they had. For me the sweets were better than the main dishes but the real shock was the final bill, which was £166 and didn't include the cold fish pie. When we checked, a small glass of wine was £7 and a pint of Lager was £4.30 also the vegetables were all extra meaning my warm mediocre cod dish which was of moderate size was £16 with just a few trimmings. The other main downside to the place is that there is no car park and I was forced to park about a mile away. So I'm afraid I wouldn't bother to re-visit and couldn't recommend.
