Pefect Getaway - Staff are exceptional

Rebecca don 12/08/2017 10:41

This hotel was absolutely lovely. The hotel staff especially in the bar by the pool where so lovely and did anything for you. Lovely pool, hotel was fully booked, yet always had a sunbed, walking distance from the beach 8 mins. The breakfast was great, bar lunch food was really nice, freshly prepared, you could see your food being cooked, different specials every day. What a lovely place to stay

Fantastic the cat in the secret garden

Mandy Hon 10/08/2017 23:42

Before I chat about the hotel there's a secret garden with a beautiful cat named baby that would love a small pouch of cat food from the local supermarket please only about half a Euro and she's very lonely 😹😹😹💔💔 photos of baby below xx

This hotel has sauna Turkish bath games room heated swim pool and other pool beautiful rooms and views immaculate in every way excellent food and is wonderful place to stay lovely welcoming staff it's near all the night life and the bus stops right outside for a more crowded Lagos that has lots of interest ✔️✔️✔️🐍

Good hotel but edge of town

My wife and I spent two weeks here. On our arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and spoke excellent English. Check in was very quick, with a surprise being given a real key for the room instead of a piece of plastic. The helpful reception staff were quite happy to print off a bus timetable for us later in the week.

Our room was a decent size, with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for a two week holiday. The large beds were very comfortable. The TV had BBC1 and ITV plus some other English channels, great for those who do not spend all their holiday on all-singing, all-dancing mobile phones or tablets but want to keep up to date with the news. The room had a small fridge with a carton of long life milk, plus a kettle and plenty of sachets of tea, coffee and sugar. The lock and key for the safe were free of charge, despite what some other reviews say. The bathroom was a good size, with a shower over the bath. There were bath towels, hand towels and facecloths, plus plenty of soaps, shampoos, gels and body lotions. Our room had a large balcony with a table, chairs, sun-loungers, umbrella and clothes dryer.

Pool towels are available from reception at no charge. There are two pools, with the smaller one heated (i.e. slightly warmer than the larger pool). There are about 40 – 45 sun-loungers around the pool, with enough umbrellas for one between two. There are clear warnings not to reserve sunbeds. The pool-side bar serves light snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Breakfast was good. There is a choice of orange or apple juice, yoghurts and yoghurt drinks, fresh and tinned fruit, five cereals, several types of bread and preserves, and some cakes, plus the option of a fry-up if you want it. The owner enjoys serving coffee at your table.

Facilities include a tennis court, a gym and a spa, but we did not use these, nor did we eat at the restaurant in the evenings.

This was our second visit to Praia da Luz, and on balance this was the better of the two hotels we have used. It is an uphill walk from the front, but we did it twice a day and had no problems even in the heat of mid-afternoon. Should we return to Luz for a third visit we would return to the Belavista.

Perfect getaway

What a lovely hotel! -
Staff are exceptional, thanks to Alex,Danny,Jerome and Samuel etc for a lovely week away.
Breakfast is all you would want, we only ate one evening meal in the restaurant which was lovely.
Facilities are beautiful, great location (although the walk up the hill at the end of an evening is hard work but good to walk off the booze)
The horseshoe design of the building provides a stunning sea view. We booked be standard room with sea view and were on the 1st floor (101) which was lovely (only thing I would say is ask for a 1st floor room as the ground floor rooms didn't look as appealing- also we had the sun in the morning, so if you can ask for the other side to get the evening sun)
Pools and pool bar are faultless- while hotel is spotless and pretty faultless.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Belavista for a lovely holiday.

Great Hotel. Perfect for quiet getaway

Skidney_GALAon 01/08/2017 20:58

Hotel was fully booked but did not feel busy. Resort also quiet compared to Lagos/ Albafera and that was mid July.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and always plenty to eat (tip for Hotel would be a microwave if someone wanted food to be a little hotter). Room was also good. Cleaned daily. Had room 113. Good view of pools and sea from balcony (tip for Hotel if three staying have three chairs and cups for three etc- although got them when asked). Hotel also has a great Games room. Hardly used. Ideal to take the kids whilst other half gets ready for night out

Lots of choice for eating out. Indian across from Hotel, Sangam was lovely. Barroca was our favourite BBQ on Sunday with Band. Thursday Karaoke. Book table as it gets busy. We also are at Hugo Jacks,The Bull and Chinese. All were very nice. Take cash though as lots of them don’t card payments… We went to Drag Queen show at the Tavern (Wednesday night and can get tickets there or at the Bull). Was good but late start 11pm if taking kids (kids friendly). Hope you like the saxophone pre show.

Bus into Lagos was no problem. 30 mins. Stop was outside Hotel or Church at bottom of hill. Cheaper taking single ticket than day ticket 4 euros for three. You can get timetable from reception. Nice marina. Recommended to eat at Fernando's. Busy so book in advance.

Luz Beach was very nice and not too busy. Two sun beds and shade 12 euros for the day. Plenty places to get lunch along the front. Boat trip can also be book at beach. 1.5 hours round the grottoes 20 euros for adult 15 for child…

No hesitation in recommending Hotel and area. Have fun
