weekend at Cape Cod
eguglielmettion 24/07/2017 22:34This is a place you really want to see. This is a former Catholic church and the renovations are beautiful. The original stain glass windows have been kept reminding you to remember what was. The menu is somewhat limited but they make up for that with the high quality of the food they serve. I had the scallops which came with mashed potatoes, my husband had pasta Bolognese, and our son had the yellow fin tuna which came with a fried rice. But the winner of the night for my husband and son was the appetizer of clam chowder with pork belly. It was served in a bowl with the 2 clams in the shell on top. Both of them said it was good enough to have for their whole meal. They have an outdoor patio which was absolutely beautiful with gorgeous landscaping and flowering plants. I think it would be a difficult to choose whether you would want to eat inside or out. Next door is a sister restaurant with emphasis on burgers. We asked our server about the "inn" part of the Belfry and he said they have 6 rooms. Didn't see the rooms so can't comment on them.
Really Enjoyed our stay here
curlytop26on 22/07/2017 14:49This is a very pleasant and quirky Inn. My husband and I spent 6 nights here this July. Sandwich is lovely and the hotel is only a very short walk from the amazing boardwalk and ideally located if like us you intend exploring the whole island and islands close by. Our room which was in the Painted Lady building next-door to the Belfry was lovely really large with a massive bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. The only draw back being there was no safety deposit box, which would have helped provide piece of mind that our personal items were safe. The Inn was unnamed a lot of the time which was fine by us as we had everything we needed and no problems. We ate breakfast at the Belfry each day which was very nice all be it a little limited in choice. We would have no qualms about staying at the Belfry again but a safety deposit box would seal the deal.
Excellent
simtaylon 18/07/2017 18:26We dined at the Belfry on our 1st night in Cape Cod and were very impressed by the food. The setting is different, but very nice.
Service was helpful and attentive.
It had rained heavily earlier in the day and as a result the restaurant was pretty quiet, so slightly lacking in atmosphere but very good food, nevertheless.
A true Cape Cod B&B gem!!!
TLIIIon 11/07/2017 23:48We were part of a large family group that stayed at the Belfry Inn & Bistro over the 4th of July weekend to attend my nephew's wedding at Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee. I've been in the hotel business for over 30 years and have to say that this quaint little B&B exceeded my expectations! The guest rooms my wife and I stayed in (called the "Thursday" room) and the room our two daughters stayed in (called the "Wednesday" room) were spacious and cozy with really nice bathrooms! The rooms are located in a building which was once a church.
Our large, extended family group enjoyed delicious hot breakfasts each morning and were particularly pleased with the outstanding service and hospitality we received. The owner, Chris, was very hands-on and a great guy!! Erin, our breakfast server on two of our three mornings, also works as an innkeeper on their front desk during the day. She's really friendly and efficient!!! The dinner our large family group had in the Belfry Inn's main dining room on Friday night June 30th was terrific! Their cuisine is upscale and delicious and we all thought their evening menu offered an excellent selection of culinary dishes!
If you are visiting the Cape and looking for a cozy place to stay in the Sandwich area - or are looking for an outstanding restaurant to enjoy a nice dinner, you should definitely visit the Belfry Inn & Bistro - New England innkeeping at it's very best!!!
Great Food in an Unusual Setting
Capegardenladyon 23/05/2017 01:14You don't often eat a meal in a venue where you see "Nailed" and "Crucified" carved into the walls. But since the Belfry is in an old church, that's what diners close to the walls might see. Aside from the repurposed building, however, there are many reasons to visit this restaurant on Cape Cod. First of all, it's never deafening noisy. Unusual in a restaurant today!
Secondly, the menu is interesting and changes seasonally. I am particularly fond of the mussels, which can be an entree along with a salad.
