Nice..Ok
Jannine Gon 18/07/2017 07:52Motel was nice....warm, clean...a little old...Ok for one night....Had everything we needed....Nice welcome on arrival...was close to Art Gallery and a walk to Town Centre, Restaurants, etc. If you're in a downstairs unit, the noise from upstairs units may not be nice for you if you like quiet.
Nice but not amazing
Anthony Con 01/07/2017 10:02The location is excellent and the room is clean and tidy, but it's not overly cheap and the room really is quite small (we did have a compact queen). I do feel a little bad giving it 3 stars but I couldn't really give it 4 stars. If the room was slightly cheaper or the room was just a touch larger then I would have given it 4 stars.
An absolutely perfect location
gnillocon 01/05/2017 00:58Bella Vista is a very short distance from the Len Lye building, across the road from Monica's Eatery, and a short block away from Frederics restaurant. Sauce, a craft beer and pizza place was also a short walk away. They all had amazing food, but there were any number of other well rated restaurants. The motel has bikes to borrow. We had taken our own and enjoyed biking along the coastal walkway. The shops in the vicinity were also funky and well with perusing.
We had booked a compact studio, but had a free upgrade to a room with a spa bath and kitchen as we were staying three nights. The room was quite small but clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. The actual motel was clean, tidy and attractive with good parking.
Better Than It Looks
LilAlon 04/04/2017 08:14Bella Vista's rooms look basic, but they are very well equipped. Everything you might need is included, even hooks in the bathroom.
The location is perfect. You can walk to bars and restaurants, but there's little traffic noise.
And they helped us out with a little problem. Recommended.
Excellent Location
VicnJen67on 28/01/2017 08:51Stayed at Bella Vista while my darling worked out of New Plymouth for a few days. Started out in the "Compact Queen" room. Bed in this room was a bit tired. Maybe 5/10 for comfort. Size wise this room was adequate if you were just sleeping there but as I was going to spend a fair bit of time there we upgraded to the family unit. This was well worth the extra $35.00 per night. So close to waterfront walks and museums. Weather was wild as which was exciting. Excellent dining also within a few minutes stroll. Try Monica's eatery just across the road for breakfast or dinner. Bed in family room 8/10. Kitchenette and room to eat and relax. This place is often full so book early. Would certainly return.
