Once again Paco and his staff surpassed themselves with their professionalism and attention to detail. This is the second time I have had the privilege of staying at Los Hidalgos and would recommend it to group travellers.
A good location

Nice people, good conditions, clean, parking free, silence. The hotel has 4 floors, but no elevator. It is located near the entrance Santillana del Mar. Nice furniture, bathroom wi-fi free. You need to know Spanish, otherwise you mean by ... signs.

We had an amazing time in this hotel who catered for 60 people: students, teachers and drivers. The management (the most supportive and generous owner Paco, the fantastic receptionists and the lovely dinner ladies) of the hotel made our experience unforgettable. I could not thank them enough for how kindly they treated us, responding so quickly and respectfully to any requests. Rooms were clean, dining hall and lounge were accommodating. Having a green area outside made a real difference for a group of this size to use their energy doing all kind of outdoor activities: playing football etc. I would recommend this hotel for big and small school groups without a doubt.

Wow!
What a fantastic hotel.
Food..first class. So much it is embarrassing.
The starters are tapas style..local and fresh.
Beautiful
Mains are excellent and extras are always available.
The staff however are the secret.
Excellent kitchen staff and serving is superb.
Friendly and welcoming, jokes and laughter language barriers aside.
This is one of the nicest, friendliest and most pleasant hotels I've had the pleasure of staying at.
A1. First Class. 5 star.
Don't hesitate...book!
Good basic hotel

Los Hidalgos was one of the most affordable hotels we've visited during our one-week road trip in the northern Spain. However it was also one of the best in terms of expectations vs. the star rating.
The room is _extremely_ quiet. This combined with the odd sensation of the completely doorless room and bedclothes (usually there's at least some smell of detergent they use, smell of wooden furniture etc., but here, nothing. We left the curtain open a bit just not to feel like we were in a sensory deprivation chamber :)! The quietest room I've been to, same as a 4 star hotel I visited in Braga (Melia Braga). Maybe the colour of the walls wasn't what I'd have chosen, but who am I to judge for their design views.
New shower cabinet was a bonus, the tiny toilet seat a minus (or maybe it's just me). Clean bathroom anyway.
The breakfast was ok, I had mine with fresh coffee, juice and bread/toast with butter and marmalade. Wife had the same plus corn flakes and yoghourt.
All in all a pleasant experience. Will be back if we ever end in Santillana again!
