Great view, unfriendly waiters and terrible food
Kar0207on 13/08/2017 17:01From the minute we got there the staff were really unfriendly. Also the food wasn't great. My dad order a fish and it was covered in a saffron sauce to the extent that you couldn't even taste the fish
Also I'm lactose intolerant and they were not at all accommodating... finally when there was something I could eat on the menu and they brought it over it was swimming in olive oil....really would not recommend this place
Overpriced badly maintained hotel with amazing view
aslanenafoodieon 17/07/2017 18:58If it wasn't for great service by Andreas we would have walked out of this hotel.. when booking we were promised adjoining rooms (we booked two rooms) with big balcony. Instead we get a room that had the tiniest balcony ever.. the charm of this place is the view of the lake and mountains.. but not from that tiny balcony! What a shame. The bathroom had a stubborn cockroach staring at you! Ugh!! The restaurant was also very average and coincidentally even service was average ! Andreas's chirpy personalised service is what saved the day! Never again in that hotel..

Main assets :
- tasty food at hotel's restaurant
- great view on the lake (Brienzsee)
- nice village.
Moreover, the hosts were very kind during all our stay. Can only recommand it !
Lunch - don't bother
Gary Don 09/07/2016 14:03Have been in Switzerland for a week now. Service everywhere is great - apart from here. Shame there is no option for a minus score. 3francs for tap water with the meal which took an age to arrive. Location is nice, but that does not make up for the very poor service.

Has had a change of owners.
Hotel is at the end of Iseltwald with a terrific view on the lake.
Food was fresh and tasty.Portions were good.Local fare well done.
Service was ok.Dining room is insipid but terrasse would have been great had weather permitted.
Worth a visit.
