First the good: They are the only hotel in Bellevue, Ohio, and they apologize a lot.
Now the bad: They are the only hotel in Bellevue, Ohio, and they have a lot to apologize for.
I checked in on a prepaid reservation at 2 in the morning and they were there for me. They confirmed I was there for two nights. My room was right out front where I'd parked my car, so happy so far. Then it all went down hill. Badly.
My non-smoking room (it even says so on a plaque on the door) had clearly been smoked in, recently, heavily and often. The drapes, linen and carpet reeked of it. The bathroom was all fixtures from the fifties that had been cleaned, at best half-heartedly, since then. Rust, fungus, mildew and bugs (yes - very visibly on this last one) throughout. Wall dings and occasional efforts to patch same with miscolored paint. One of the closet doors was off the tracks and laying sideways. Well the wifi worked, after I figured out that, bizarrely, the 10 rooms in the front had a different password than the rest of the hotel. I also figured out that out front means right on the busy highway with trucks and fast cars all night. This is when it looked about 10% full, at best. Never did see a "Suite".
The "breakfast" is white bread for toast, wiith pb&j pcs, packets of instant oatmeal, apples, bananas, and little lunch-convenience packs of applesauce and mandarin oranges in syrup. And coffee, very weak OJ and water with cucumbers in it. And more 1000 calorie+ pastry than you can shake a stick at.
The air system worked in (burn smelling} heat mode only, on a day that went well into the seventies. I had to leave the front door open in the moring to cool off the room after a shower. The maid came up and asked if she could come in to clean the room and whether I'm a "stayover" (I guess they don't get many of those). I asked her to come back in 20 minutes when I would at my event and took a business phone call. While I'm doing that the manager comes over (no knocking but door is still ajar for something resembling fresh air) to ask me if I'm okay. He sees the phone and says sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. After the call, I go to the office to see what he wants, and he says sorrry, sorry, sorry, sorry, but the maid wants to know if she's upset you. I said no, but I did ask her to come back in twenty minutes. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry again.
After my event, I find my card key does not work. To the front office I go. "Sorry, sorry, sorry sorry, but the person who checked you in last night only had you down for one night. I pointed out my prepaid reservation and my statement to her was for two nights. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
Well I'm back in my overwarm, smoke & mildew smelling room, thankfully having to leave tomorrow before breakfast, listening to the trucks out front, thinking how sorry sorry, sorry, sorry I am to be staying here one more night.
Only 3/4 of a benjamin a night if you buy right, but worth perhaps half that. I'm told there's a better B&B in town. Next time there.
I don't think I've ever given one circle before, but unless you're a truck driver, I think you'll be sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry if you stay here too. I hope that doesn't sound condescending to truck drivers.

The customer service at this establishment was extremely exceptional. The hotel has some quirks and most of the town of Bellevue closes down fairly early, but the great attention to detail that our front desk associate had, made this one of the best hotel stays ever, so I am definitely giving it a five star rating. It was a very welcoming and homey stay. Well worth the price! Free breakfast, a clean heated pool, and a hot tub put the final touch on an incredible stay.

everything is fine including secured. if something is wrong, management fixes it promptly, location is great, new improvements every year, clean and maintained property, they are happy your a guest. serves bottled water in room.

This hotel is amazing and wonderful! I would recommend it to everyone looking for a place to stay near Port Clinton, Put-In-Bay, and Bellevue! My first great experience was when I called the hotel the day we were supposed to arrive asking them if it was okay for us to do a late check in. The gentleman had a great sense of humor and made me laugh when he said that was okay and he would be there all night. When we arrived he asked how the trip was and he listened to me tell him how our two hour travel turned into a 4 hour excursion. The room was very clean and welcoming. The pool and hot tub were clean and well kept; we all enjoyed the time we had in them to relax. The staff was amazing, friendly, kind, welcoming, understanding, and more! The breakfast buffet was great because you could grab and go real quick if you were in a hurry. Everything about this hotel was great and we will be going back before the end of the year (and any other time we want to travel to the area). Thank you do much to the GM and staff at Bellevue hotel and suites for being understanding, kind, and awesome! (: We can't wait to visit and stay there again!

This must have been a very nice property when it was built. We paid too much for our stay because some sort of car races were going on. A total of $96.00 is more than a double room here should cost. The plus was that it was the right amount of miles between driving points for us.
